If you're looking to earn $5 - $10 p/m then yes, cashback sites are the way for it.
But to get an actual steady income, you want to be earning more than that. Just play to your strengths, do what you do well and try to establish some sort of business out of it, if you are prepared to put the time in.

I earn a couple from posting on new forums. Owners do this to kick start their forums.
And I also earn via advertisements on my blog. :D
