What's new

just opinions

My sis had some of your same symptoms and it was a detached retina. I would try going to an opthamologist because it's not good to let this go on too long.

Hope you feel better soon

No clue Tygr! But, my niece does work at a doctors office in Wauconda that takes the state insurance. I can get the number if you want...

So sorry you are going through this.

And like others have said. Knock it off! You are far from a bottom feeder! Bottom feeders are criminals! Drug dealers that feed off of our children, sex offenders, murderers... So just quit it! Don't wanna hear that from you again! Alot of people have state insurance---especially now!

Feel better sweetie!

We all want the best for you. I don't have any good advice.. just :huggy:

Praying that you feel better soon!
Don't sell yourself short, you are an amazing person!

AMEN--but all those people think the democrats are whack oh well

not having quality health care sucks--down on your luck, going through bad times, then you dont deserve good health care--yeah thats us the caring nation....
I see this ALL the more reason NOT to have gov't run health care. I agree we need some changes But please don't take away the ability to have private insurance. I pray you get better soon and having gov't assistance does NOT make you a bottom feeder. Our country has these programs because they are needed.

peachy keen. Trying to work on 18 essays so I can have my weekends free. My head still hurts from Monday but I can function so its all good! Thanks for asking! I have 1 essay done!

I use the site webmd.com quite a bit to kind of get an idea of how worried I need to be about certain health issues. They have a symptom checker where you can put in your gender, age, and symptoms, and it will list different things that might be wrong. If you put in "partial vision loss," you get a pop-up that says to seek emergency medical attention ASAP. Then it asks if the vision loss is sudden or gradual; if you say "sudden," it again tells you to seek emergency medical attention ASAP. So, I would probably go to the ER.

My two cents on government-run insurance - Just because you have Medicaid doesn't mean you're a bottom feeder. We have All Kids/Family Care (part of Medicaid). It sucks because it's hard to find a dr who will take you as a patient if you're not already established with their office. But, I don't really think it's any worse than the private plan I had before. Due to a unique employment situation, I didn't have access to a group plan and had to get an individual one through BCBS. That also sucked b/c if you don't have the consumer power of a group behind you, BCBS doesn't really care about you and will look for any piddly reason to deny a claim. DH couldn't even get insurance through them because he had surgery for scoliosis 10 years ago. So, basically, we went from one crappy insurance to another, but we don't have to pay for this one. And, to be fair, it has been a huge blessing for basic services like check-ups and the flu, since we were already with drs who took the plan. But trying to find a specialist to see you for anything is next to impossible, and if you have to switch pcp's...good luck.

I know you are busy with your esays, but how are you today?

I'm good....getting nervous about Monday. The room that I"m in is dark and has bright incandescent light, so when the instructor shuts off the lights (maybe 100-150 times a day) it essentially acts as a strobe; an 8 hour long one. I will DOUBLE dose myself with antivert and will have vicodin on standby cuz I have a PM class that takes me almost to 10pm. I cannot afford to miss either classes! I did have an MRI when I saw an ENT..it was clear. I still cannot find an opthamologist....found one in chicago but that equals paying someone with gas, parking, time, etc. The ENT has no clue what's wrong, suggested a neurologist. Called a few neurologists just for opinions and two told me to hit up a opthamologist first. We'll see...I"m just gonna have to pay cash to get it solved....LMAO knew finally being able to afford Disney was too good to be true!

Did you call the doctor's number I gave you? You need someone who will make it all come together for you. A primary care doctor should be able to coordinate the other doctors.

Get yourself to a hospital clinic - what you are describing - the "trigger" sounds very much like epilepsy. Even if it is not, your trigger is a flourescent light - at least one of the triggers - you can request the school provide incandescent lighting. Flourescent lights are a known trigger for seizures - particularly the "red" spectrum (there are 2 colors of flourescents - red and blue). The reason is the speed of the cycle (in layman's terms). Red has a faster on/off cycle. At this time, until you know what it is, request the lighting be OFF and they provide NON-flourescent lights.

Hospitals have clinics which accept Medicaid. You need to see a neurologist ASAP.

Not sure where you live but in Elgin there is a clinic called Greater Elgin Family Care Center. They are a free clinic and accept medicaid. Once their MD sees you they will refer you to a neurologist or imaging facility ( you probably need an MRI) that accepts Medicaid. No need for you to waste your time calling around trying to find docs and facilities that accept medicaid. If you live closer to Aurora the Visiting Nurses Association has MD's that accept medicaid and also have an extensive list of specialists and imaging facilities that accept the medical card. The MRI center I work for works closely with both facilities that's why I know. I hope you get the help you need.
