Have you guys heard of Katamari Damacy for PS2? It's a pretty old game but I kept hearing about it a while ago and finally gave it a try. The game play is pretty basic..... you role things up and get bigger; but this simplicity is what I guess got a lot of ppl addicted to it. The controls is kinda weird and takes some time to get use to but its understandable why the controls are like that. And after a while... I too got addicted.

Its about a king wanting to make the universe a better place so he would get his son, the Prince, to role up junk and turn it into things that are needed or requested. In the beginning you role up small things like thumbtacks, dice paper, and as you grow bigger you start to role up ppl, [you can even hear them scream], up to buildings. Its pretty funny and fun knowing what kinda things you can role up. Some requests there are goals on what specific things to role up but I don't care I just role up everything.

There are two versions for PS2 ( Katamari Damacy and We Love Katamari) and a third for PSP (Me and My Katamari). I heard the maker from Namco has stop making them too. The PS2 version run for a pretty low price when it came out but I guess its a good thing, but for PSP it's pretty pricey and it was shorter.

If you guys are looking for something different in a cheap price range you guys should give this a try, especially if you have a gf, my gf loves this game. Next thing you know, you too might love Katamari!

Haha but the king wants to put the universe back together cause he messed it up! :D I love that game. We <3 Katamari I have yet to play, but it came out new at about 20 dollars if I'm not mistaken.

Yeah, I have both Katamari Damacy and We Love Katamari. Great games, lots of fun, and very simple concept.
I can understand Namco not making any more, because there's really only so far they can go with the concept, and I feel like it's really run it's course.

Yea I guess that true! What a shame though. The PSP version was not a very good way to end it though. I mean, it didnt seem to have much to it. I still play with the We Love Katamari, I really like it! But I wish the PSP version was better! But I guess they can only do so much to a small console.

There is also a cut out print of thePrince that you can find on Google to cut, paste , and display for pointless fun.

The first Katamari game had the best soundtrack ever. In fact, they just recently posted the soundtracks for all three games over at link removed, if I remember correctly.

I don't have a PSP (and am way too poor to get one), but I'd like to at least rent M&MK someday, as it sounds slightly interesting.

On a side note, there are many funny YTMNDs about Katamari Damacy, including my personal favorite :D

thanks for the contribution - per the FAQ, referral links are a no-no outside of profiles/sigs! --monsieurjohn

Good point. The soundtrack is the perfect companion to these games. Slightly avant garde, very quirky, more than a little odd, but completely infectious... it adds just the right touch to the whole game, and the tunes burrow themselves into your brain.
On more than one occasion, I've had people ask me about that crazy music that's playing, and tell me how it's driving them crazy, but find them subconsciously humming along with it after an hour or so.

My friend had gotten this for her birthday and wanted me to come over and play it. I asked her what it was about and she said rolling around in trash. Haha, but it is a pretty fun game, but I suck at it.

Yeah i'd have to agree, after so much spin-offs it would loose it's magic. 3 is enough.

I started playing tha game about a month ago, and could'nt put it down. It's very addictive. I think the coolest part of the game is how you set yourself short time objectives.

"I want that car into my Katamari, but i'm way too small! Just you wait! Muahahah!". It felt like that a lot while playing.

I wish i picked up the sequel at the same time, now i'll have to wait another full year to get it.
