Manny Ramirez - Signs with Oakland

I think that it's pretty reasonable for them to be the favorites, that said, baseball seems to be about getting hot.

Teams that win the World Series are often not those that are most dominant on paper, but those that are able to come up with clutch hits and get quality starts at the end of the season. We'll see how it goes for them and I certainly don't mean to say that I don't think they have a good chance.

I guess I can't blame Oakland for taking a flyer on the greatest right handed hitter of all time. Who knows, maybe he'll help them when he comes back from the suspension.

I'm sort of confused here. Why would they even take him at this point in his career? Do they even NEED him? Plus he has a bit of baggage that follows him around. Sometimes it's odd to see what choices teams make.

Will be interesting to see if Manny has much left. He was a great hitter, it was a shame to see him go out the way he did. I hope he can put it together for one last hurrah.

Finally someone else who acknowledges that Manny is the best right hander ever.

I think this was a smart pick-up for Billy Bean and the A's. For as cheap as they got him it is worth the shot to see what Manny can do. Manny has always been a very good power hitter and we will see if he still can hit that well. It will be interesting to see how this pans out.
