The University of Maryland defeated the University of Indiana tonight in men's basketball to become the 2002 NCAA Basketball National Champs.
In doing so, Maryland became to first team to defeat 4 programs with national championships, en route to the championship: Wisconsin, Kentucky, Kansas, and Indiana.
This is also the first national championship in Men's Basketball in the school's history.
For those wondering why I can, I attended the University of Maryland and played on the basketball team's practice squad in '92-93.
It's a great day for Terp fans!!!
