Do you think Michael Jackson will be found guilty of child molestation?

No, I don't think Michael Jackson will be found guilty. Do I beleive he is? OH, YEAH. That's one sick little cookie Mrs. Jackson spawned. He'll be aquitted just in time for him to do it all over again.
 
I am not so sure about that. We will have to wait and see, but I am betting on a guilty verdict.
 
i'm content with saying *grumble* ;)

if we learned anything from OJ Simpson, he'll spend the rest of his golfing days looking for the real molester
 
OJ's jury had members interested in jury nullification, as well as a moron for a judge. So far, it does not seem like Michael will be so lucky.
 
I dunno, Nova. reflex may be right. I'd love to see the creep-a-zoid convicted and sent to prison to take it up the cooley, but I don't have too much faith in that. He'll be exonerated and allowed to fly back to the Land of the Lost Boys.

this book i've been reading has a chapter about domestic abuse, and uses the OJ Simpson case as an example. The author was an expert witness at the case, and ALL the signs and warnings of domestic violence/murder were there, except for evidence of the actual crime. here's a couple paragraphs:
They told us, "Just because a man beats his wife doesn't mean he killed her," and that's true. But what's that got to do with OJ Simpson, who beat his wife, broke into her home, threatened her (at least once with a gun), terrorized her, and stalked her? That behavior puts him very near the center of the predictive circle for wife murder.

The Scheme Team's observation is a little like saying, "Just because someone buys dough doesn't mean he's going to make pizza," and that's true, but if he buys dough, spreads it around on a tin tray, adds tomato sauce, adds cheese, and puts it in the oven, then, even if Simpson lawyer Alan Dershowitz tells you differently, you can be comfortable predicting that pizza is being made.

I'm worried (and fairly confident) that something like this will happen. The evidence is there, but without enough proof someone this high-profile will not be punished. Hundreds of identical, lower-profile cases like this doubtless end in conviction every year.

But there's only one way to find out, and that's to wait and see.
 
While certainly believe that it is possible, I am going to still try and keep the faith, and say I think he will be found guilty. Again, I fall back on the jury and the judge OJ had: both allowed the travesty of justice to come to fruition. A better judge would not have allowed some the antics that went on, and a smarter jury would have seen through the nonsense. So far the judge in this case seems competent, and the jury does not have any overt signs of stupid. Ultimately though, we can just sit back and wait.

Who is worse though, Michael Jackson, or some of his mindless drone fans who will not even tolerate the thought of him being guilty! Hmmmm.
 
Sorry, Nova - love ya to pieces but I'm siding with reflex on this one. He's right on here. As far as what's WORSE - the adoring fan or the creep - it's the creep every time! The fans will disappear once the creep is put away - they, like the flies they are, will asail upon another piece of **** and forget all about their previous source of gratification.
 
i dont think its going to matter if hes found guilty or innocent there is going to be a high percentage of people that wont beleive either result
 
Who cares? No one will ever know the real truth. Just like with OJ, just like with all the steroid and baseball commotion-- it doesn't matter what people say- no one will believe it anyway. That's what all the publicity causes--- distrust in the system.

I dont think thats entirely true. Like with the steroids... you can basically tell that they used it and its not what the players dont say, its what the players dont say and how they avoid the questions which makes them look guilty. Barry bonds basically told everyone he used steroids, and Maguire just wasn't responding to certain questions on purpose. Either way... these players are the best that the league has ever seen, which is sad. I doubt they'll ever make it to the Hall of Fame. Even if Bonds doesn't actually retire.
 
I don't know. The whole Maguire thing is weird. Obviously not saying anything makes him look guilty, but he had to had seen that coming. I just wonder what the motives are. If he said he never used them, would anyone believe it?

I wouldn't. The problem is, what do you do now? Do you start testing and overturning records? It is a tough situation.
 
Well heres my view on it. If I was accused of using steroids... and knew i was innocent... i'd volunteer for the tests... wouldn't you?
 
Of course- but that's not the situation for Maguire.
