i couldn't believe that on, what was it 60 minutes?, when the interviewer point blank asks him "is it ok for grown men to sleep with young children in their bed?" and he says "yes! of course!"...*shakes head*, michael, michael, michael. just say no...it's one thing to have your OWN children in your bed once in a while (say after they have had a nightmare or something like that)...but having other people's kids in your bed? right there he did himself in with the media and the public. i like to go with the innocent untli proven guilty idea, but sometimes guilt is blatantly obvious as it seems to be in this case.
 
Not been watching tv much lately. So cannot really say I have much interest.

But If he says things like that then obviously...he could most probably be guilty, but then again as Nova says innocent til guilty.

i don't know if that's the way that anyone here has been thinking about it, but i don't think it is. i think most (if not all) have been making our judgements based on the information that we have.

not ready to hear a statment like "i like to sleep with little boys"? i certainly hope that we are not ready to hear a statement like that. accepting people of different sexual orientations and people with disabilities is a long way off from accepting people that like to sleep with children...

just because someone has faced dificulties in their life does not excuse them for taking responsibility for their actions. he had a hard life, ok, fine. but does that mean that if he is guilty he should face less of a sentence? i don't think so. if he has done these things than of course he needs and deserves help as anybody else would, it is a shame that he didn't try to seek that out before hand. again, i have already assumed guilt, but that's the feeling i'm getting.

i'd say there is a large difference between the way Jesus meant hanging out with children, loving children (in a platonic, unconditional way), and what child molesters do. yes i am assuming that michael jackson is guilty, because of the evidence against him, not because of his looks, i couldn't care less what he looks like. the fact of the matter is, if he did abuse children, he deserves all that's coming to him.

If you love children, become a Big Brother/Big Sister, or mentor. If you love to sleep with children, perhaps this situation should be analyzed and/or changed. Secondly, I am sick of hearing people whine about being wrongly oppressed because they are: a certain race, overweight, have a disability, or are homosexual. We are not criticizing this man's actions because he is/was black and had a botched surgery, or anything to that extent. Instead it is because he did something that is morally and socially considered to be wrong. You do not sleep in the same bed as a strangers child. Simple. You do not want to be judged incorrectly for that? Well unfortunately this is not acceptable behaviour in our society. You made your bed, now lie in it. (I wonder how many times that has been used?)

you say he's had a hard life?? well lots of people have hard lifes, infact nearly every body does, that's not even one valid excuse for sleeping with children.

First of all, chill out, and perhaps you should read that capitalization thread. Secondly, I never said whether or not I though Micheal Jackson was guilty or not. Regardless of if he is or isn't, it is not socially acceptable to sleep with a child which is not yours. You say babysitters would also be locked in jail, well I babysay for 5 years and never once slept with a child. Thirdly, I think it is quite offensive to try to equalize Jesus Christ with Micheal Jackson. Even if I wasn't religous, which I am, I would feel it wrong to try to equalize both situations. After all, that was THOUSANDS of years ago. We no longer allow 12 year old girls to marry 39 year old men and start popping out babies like little machines. There have been many changes to society as a whole in that amount of time. Now there are laws set to protect children. I cannot say I agree with all the laws we have to abide by, and no, I doubt there is a law preventing you from sharing a bed with a child when you do not sleep with them. HOWEVER, it is socially unacceptable, and people frown upon it. If you do such a thing with a strangers child, be ready for a social backlash. Is he guilty of doing something that goes against the societies norm? YES. Is he guilty of child molestation? They have yet to prove anything. And that is the issue facing the courts.
 
Wait a minute, Mustang - insanity is part of the stuff that makes this site so cool - insanity is underrated.
 
It is also rather rude, especially since in the rules of posting we are all asked to type in english as that is most of our first languages.

Well, whatever. I'm not sure I'm very keen on any of that last post, filantro - but again, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, so post away - and it's not OUR problem that you speak Spanish, either.
 
Wow filantro, you really need to not only cut a lot of the clutter you have in your long drawn out posts but you really need to cut out the CAPS as well as separate your paragraphs a line further. If you don’t do this, you’ll find a lot of people ignoring you with me included. READING IN ALL CAPS IS ANNOYING AND POINTLESS; USE AT LEAST SOME OF THE BASICS OF ENGLISH. I see a lot of excuse making by you but I don’t see any reason what so ever backing up your unsupported assertion that Michael Jackson is innocent. Oh and a question I previously posted: If Michael Jackson loves children then why does he only have WHITE little BOYS over in his house and nobody else?

That has to be… wow there really just is no words. People don’t understand the things you said because you didn’t explain it in a grammar appropriate fashion in any sense what so ever. Don’t take out your rage on us because you apparently have a poor insight on the English language. You constantly type in all caps, don’t separate your paragraphs and you need to cut a lot of the clutter and get straight to the point.

I know some spanish, and I think I understand some of what you said Filantro, but the lack of spacing and possible misspellings made translation difficult. In the first sentance you seem to be calling someone the "most atrocious assholes" you have ever known in your life. In the second sentance I think you said that his mental disorder is very large now. However, at that point I just gave up. I'm willing to try to understand what you are saying, regardless of language, but the lack of spacing was more than I could handle (It's been much too long since I studied spanish).

With regards to the original topic of this thread: I think Michael Jackson probably did molest some of the children at his ranch. However, the family that is accusing Jackson has a history of trying to live off of lawsuits, and I don't think they should be rewarded for it.
