Good morning everyone...well, I knew it was just a matter of time before we were included in the snowy areas. lol We got a little over an inch last night with ice mixed in. yuck! Laura's first class (8:30 am) today was cancelled so she left me a note not to wake her up! lol She's thrilled, I'm sure.
But with the snow/ice, the cold temps again. Actually, the temps are around 20, but the wind makes it feel so much colder. I've got lots of indoor stuff to do like laundry so I can pack for my trip out to mom's. I've been thinking about that and am planning on going tomorrow afternoon and staying until possibly Monday. She's not going to be able to do very much bending and figure she might need help during the nights.
Good morning...it's 9F outside right now but FEELS like 8F :freezing1: so we have a tad bit of wind. We ended up with about 2 inches of snow but more is in the forecast. :coveredinsnow:
Carol, have a safe trip to your mom's and everything will be fine. I hope you finally got a good night's sleep :cloud9: last night?
Not much going on here. Liz
PS. Just checked Wilmington weather and we would not be much warmer, it's 27F with a feel of 10F but NOT snow, LOL
our winter weather has been a bit of a let down so far in the way of Snow though we have had more than our fair share of 75mph+ winds this year!!!
Maybe we'll get snow soon! we often get what you have a couple of weeks later. Last year we had to wait until the end of Feb beginning of March before we got enough to have fun!
Oh well....how is everyone doing anyway??? We're just all getting over a nasty flu type bug which has knocked us all for six over the last 10 days!....well I say all...suzy didn't get it and Andrew keeps threatening but never quite coming down with it. I suspect the fact that he has the flu jab and low dose antibiotics all winter are holding it at bay but we've reached the stage now where we wish he just get it and be done!!!
I'm not up to much just sat here waiting for the phone to ring to say we can go and pick up our new car....well new to us...its 3yrs old and identical to our other one which is 2yrs old. So we are actually gonna have 2 reliable cars instead of one and an old banger like we usually have!!
Oh BRRRR, Liz! Stay indoors as much as you can! Yes, slept pretty well last night, thank goodness!
Hi Julie! Well, to me, I'd rather have the wind and no snow to contend with! Congrats on getting the 2nd car! Woohoo! Hope everyone is feeling better real soon.
Mighty cold here too. 9f with a wind chill of -3. The sun is popping in and out though. We have about 8 inches on the ground and more "lake effect" expected today and night. They say another 6-8 inches, but that much seldom gets this far inland.
Glad you can go stay with mom for awhile, Carol. Cancelled university classes for 1 inch of snow???? HA! You easterners just can't take it.
Julie, you can have your 75mph winds. Around here half the power lines would be taken out with those. But it's winter dang it. I'll have all the snow we can get.
Been working on a balky printer this morning. Stupid Epson won't print black if one or two of the other colors are out. What's up with that?
I think I saw a third egg in the Maryland Eagles nest. Waiting for an update on the website.
Heck if the nests are in Maine or Maryland...heck who cares....it is a blast to watch all this un-fold before your very eyes. You guys are about to see our eagle nest come on live here, right from Chilliwack B.C. Canada. We are so excited you have no idea. So if any of you get our location mixed up.....lol....Liz will correct you...tee hee.
Hope your all doing well, it's freezing cold here but NO snow or wind. Sunny day.
The camera went up Sat and the eagles are already back in the nest. Thank God.
Hugs to ya'll...Ms Charlie
I've not had much chance to pop in here.. I've been trying to fix my mum's pc (unsucessfully), my own had to go to the repairers (costing me £135), and I'm on a borrowed laptop until I get it back.
My great-aunt is worse again, Amy keeps getting colds and coughs, the cats need to go to the vets, etc etc etc
After a long weekend, things are getting back to normal here. Kids got back to school safely (taking their backpacks and laundry baskets with them!), got the vacuuming done and the bathroom bleached so I'm feeling better about my nest!
I'm with Bozodog--I *think* I'd take snow over wind after the humdinger windstorms we get here, BUT it depends on just *how much* snow! :D Don't ever want to relive the last blizzard we had (it IS possible for snow to be up to one's armpits!)
It's been snowing all afternoon here--the big fluffy flakes. Keep waiting for it to let up so I can shovel. Sandydog is in her glory playing "revolving door". And last night and this morning were real windy--musta reached Liz's neighborhood
Julie, your flu post made me laugh and I totally agree about kinda wishing the kid fighting the bug would just GET IT and be DONE with it!! Brought back memories of when Kate came down with chickenpox and the neighborhood Mommas asked if their kids could come over and play! Hoping for no relapses, though!
Carol, give your Mom our best wishes and have a safe trip! Glad Laura's FIRST class got cancelled and not her second class!!
Good grief, Michelle, you need a **hug**. You hang in there, kiddo
Well, I finished re-doing the nav bar on each page. It's now a drop down menu on the KITNES site not three rows of links. NOW, I am creating a page to put links to all the different animal web cams on...ones like the Smithsonian National Zoo. So if you know of one, PM me the link. Liz
I remember now why I don't work full time... sheesh...
This getting home at 5:30 is not for me anymore.
Not much happening here... kids had a snow day today... they were thrilled.
Tomorrow they have a late start... a one hour delay... so no 5:45 wake up for me tomorrow.
I have weight watchers tomorrow, then I'll be working again.
Julie, I'm sorry everyone has been sick, Hopefully it will be over soon... hopefully before the snow finally shows up... all you need is a good snow fall and sick kids that want to be out in that.
Carol, Becareful driving out to your moms.. and she will be in our thoughts.
BD good luck with your snow....
Liz... you've been a busy beaver....
Ms. Charlie Glad things are coming together... good luck... can't wait to have the time to play at the site.
Michelle Computor Issues really stink... your Aunt will stay in our prayers.
A'Liz... I don't know if I want Julies wind.. I've done enough hurricane winds to last me a life time... Kids with Chicken pox... my sister and I dumped ours all together to get it over with too. I'm glad your dog likes the snow, I have one that doesn't notice and one that can't figure out how to walk around it...LOL Glad the kids got back to school safely.
I'm coming up for air after a VERY exhausting (for my back anyway) day. I did a whole slew of laundry loads and had a rather large grocery order, and wrote out some checks to pay the first batch of bills.
BD, just the FIRST class was canceled today. I'm thinking maybe the teacher wasn't able to make it to school? Sorry about the stupid printer. Dh used to have an Epson. Let me ask him what he did with that problem. Nope, he only suggested maybe trying to print in grayscale. Hope by now you've resolved your problem.
{{{{Michelle}}}} Sorry everything is happening at once. It will get better.
A'Liz, hope you were able to manage some shovelling. I don't like it to accumulate too much, except when it's the light fluffy stuff.
Kelly, enjoy the snow day tomorrow. How much did y'all get?
