I'm trying to transfer old VHS children's movies to DVD. I'm using a Canopus ADVC110 to capture and transfer to my Mac. The movie transfers fine except the color is off. The picture looks very red and as if there is some film over it. Some frames all of a sudden are clear and crisp then it returns to how it was before. I've tried to disconnect and reconnect everything several times with not luck. Any suggestions?
The most likely problem is that your Canopus needs a fix. Try and isolate the problem. Do all VHS tapes do this, or just a select few? Can you duplicate the process with a PC? If it works on a PC, it must be your Mac. If your Canopus isn't working you might want to get it replaced.
You might use a movie editor and filter the colors until they seem right if you want to try that.
