Must you have a mentor to grow in your career or business?

While I am not downplaying the significance of mentorship in career and business growth, I also believe that people can be self taught to become self made.

Is it a must that people must have mentors to make it in business or career? Can't self learning build the knowledge and experience needed for one to strive in career and business?

I would say having a mentor helps but it's not the be-all and end-all of your doing well in a career or business venture.

Many have been able to have a thriving career or business teaching themselves all they know.
