Yes the cost of production is minor, unless you are actually using musicians to play the song you are recording then that cost goes up just a little, of course if you are paying the fees to the copyright holders it would probably go up a little more, then of course if you were doing 100,000 releases the cost would be pretty low, but if you were only doing 10,000 copies the cost would probably go right back up!

Steve, your pity for SC is misplaced. It was a poor business plan and a guranteed crapper.

Over-produce a product with a limited market, then ignore the priorities and preferences of the very customers you are targeting. Pretty easy prediction to make - like trying to use a canoe in the ocean.

This is 2010 - we are well into the digital media age, portability, iPods, PCs, and all manner of digital devices rule the scene. Is it really that difficult for KJs to understand why a company that focused entirely on it's hardware based CDG disc products is in such a swamp?

My post has nothing to do with SC or pity for them!

It has to do with the cost of a download versus a custom disc!

The $1.98 downloads state specifically that they are not to be used for public shows (commercial endeavors) most the of "legitimate downloads" that I have listened to use the music (and some even have the exact same lyrical mistakes as the "disc" they were taken from) from manus who have produced the disc origionally! That is a huge cut in cost!

Proformance: you are forgetting the fact that the liscensing for what you want for karaoke DOESN'T EXIST in the US or Canada.

That is not Soundchoice's fault.
