NFL Trivia Thread

That would be Merlin Olsen...:)

WarEagle knows his sports. Merlin Olsen was one player who was actually good on TV.

Here's my opinion of a few others TV or movie performance:

Jim Brown - legendary player, sucked at acting.

O.J. Simpson - Fantanstic player, sucked at acting. However, that Naked Gun 2 1/2 movie was funny as hell. If you haven't seen O.J. in that movie, rent it today.

Howie Long - One of my favorite players of old. Mediocre acting skills.

Fred Dryer - Almost forgotten as a player. He had a long running TV series (Hunter) and, I thought, was pretty good as an actor.

Can you you guys think of any others?

Mark "Super" Duper!!

Who were “The Bruise Brothers”?

Fred Dean, Gary Johnson, Leroy Jones, and Louie Kelcher of the San Diego Chargers. Defensive line that led the league in sacks in 1980 - they had 60 sacks.

What former NFL player uttered these words while working as a game analyst on ESPN?

"You have to have the personality to match up with the Patriots." (Commentary: Just a hunch, but I think he means personnel; not personality.)

"Not only does he have the NFC East record for touchdowns, but he also the team record."

"You cannot change the stripes of a leopard."

"The Packers don't has a running game." (Commentary: Has, have - tomato, tomahto - it's all the same).

"All your base are belong to us." (Commentary: He did say this, but I wasn't paying attention, so I don't know what he was referring to. Who knows? Maybe it actually made sense.)

"It takes a coach who know how to communicate." (Commentary: And it takes an analyst who "know" how to communicate too - unless you're working for ESPN.)

You skipped in Line!!

Come one I will give you a hint... it was against a NFC East team!

His first appearance as a QB in the regular season: Philadelphia Eagles at Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, October 9th, 2005. He replaced Drew Bledsoe. He had 2 rushing attempts, but no passes thrown.

The first time he threw a pass as a Cowboy in the regular season: Houston Texans at Dallas Cowboys - Sunday, October 15, 2006. He replaced Drew Bledsoe.

Ill take this... I messed up the question... it was supposed to mean take over the starting position...

I failed..

But it was against The Panthers when he became the starter and never was benched again for anyone.
