Pregnant!!

You pretty much CAN'T be fired for being pregnant...that isn't legal. Be sure to bring in a doc's note and let your job know that is what is going on.

That's the other think about my job and my Dr. I can't get a Dr. note unless I have an appointment and when I ask for a note for furture days or previous days, they look at me like I am trying to scan them out of something and they say 'Well you didn't come in to see the Dr on that day' or 'You don't have a fever, so we can't excuse you'. Then, my work is so particular about how the Dr.s not is written. It has to explicitly say what exact days I am being excused for, the reason for my absense and if I am able to return to work. How exactly am I supposed to ask/tell the Dr how to write out a dr's note for me, when they barely have the time to write one out at all. Is my Dr a **** or my employer a ****? Or a little form column A and a little from column B?

Wait, what did I miss? Why are you missing work? For Dr. appointments or have you been getting really sick?

Oh and I wasn't sayingo to hire asb's wife, just that it's a good idea to have as many helpful resources as you can to ask questions. Not every woman has the same nerves, questions, concerns....some don't really need to ask anything, but you seemed particularly nervous which is why I suggested it to begin with.

When I was preggers I just asked my Mom a lot of stuff.....not sure who you have around you to ask.

BTW relax......everything will be fine. ;)

ETA: It's here nor there, but it bothers me that you're calling yourself an idiot in your siggy. I'm sure you're just playing around, but maybe put something fun and positive like a pregnancy ticker. :) If you don't know what they are click here and scroll down to see. I think they're cute. http://www.lilypie.com/ Have fun with it!

I called off sick 6 days in the last 4 months because I've either been light headed and weak/tired or just really tired. 3 of those days were in a row and when I went to see the Dr. she wrote me a note stating 'Please excuse patient from work', but since it only had that days date on it, my work didn't except it and it didn't state that I was ok to return to work. Then my dr sent me to see a phychiatrist because she says I have depression because I walked in the door crying, and I was upset because all of a sudden all I wanted to do was sleep and it was upsetting me. (I cry over everything, as a matter of fact I am crying right now for no reason at all).

I know no one is telling me to do anything, they are mearly suggestions and I appreciate them 100%. I'm just stating how I am feeling about my situation.

Aw babe you just have the pregnancy emotions.....we all got 'em. Sounds like you just need a bil 'ole huggy. :huggy:

I like the ticker btw......very cute. ;)

Heading into your second trimester you won't be as tired....hang in there.

I agree with mrsmom, you will likely feel less tired by the second trimester.

I understand about the crying for no reason...once when I was pregnant I started crying while driving because I was listening to Sam Waterston reading the Gettysburg Address on NPR.

Yes that and Girlfriend's Guide to Surviving the First Year. ;) Great info and a funny, funny read.

http://www.amazon.com/Girlfriends-Guide-Surviving-First-Motherhood/dp/0399523308 Oh but go through the CW Amazon linky if you do order it. ;)

All three of the books I ordered came in. I started readying 'Girlfriends Guide to Pregnancy' last night and it's very informative so far. Thank you for the suggestion. I also got 'Girlfriend's Guide to Surviving the First Year' and 'Girlfriends Guide to Buying Baby Gear'. Should be interesting.

Thanks again.
