[PS] Stylish yet simple userbars

Hey guys, Azyru here.

Today I'm going to be showing you guys how to make a pretty nice userbar. It's a simple userbar but not as simple as some are... So let's get started.

First create a 200x100 px document:

Next set-up some guides for yourself:

Next, grab the rounded rectangle tool and set you radius to 3px. Then get your desired size:

Then add these effects to that rounded rectangle:

Then take a shape (I used the polygon tool): (color - #942d2d)

Now duplicate that layer and move it slighly to the left, like so: (color - #FFFFFF)

Now put you text in the dark area like so: (color - #eeeeee)

Then put some letters here (usually intials for your site) (PTP - Pay to Post) :

After, grab the gradient tool and pick foreground to transparent. Pick a nice red color (#de0000) put it on radial too. then make a new layer and fill it like so:

On the layer containing the gradient, set the layer to Linear Dodge (add) :

Now select all of the layer except for the black base one, and create a clipping mask:

And here is a finished one. But if you don't like the size of the white area then you can move all four of the top layers:

After a liitle moving I got my final piece:

But i don't know wich program to use to make these things. Could please tell me if you're not to busy? Thanks :)
 
I use photoshop, but if you can't afford it I would suggest Gimp. The only thing is Gimp doesn't have layer effects so you would have to find a different way to make it.
 
What is your most anticipated upcoming game release?

So what game are you waiting for? Does not matter the platform PC, Xbox, PS3.

Mine would be the New Batman game in a few months. I have always enjoyed those type games. I thought Batman AA was a great game. I will be starting Batman AC in a week or two. I don't expect that to disappoint me. So the new Batman would be my anticipated release.
 
I am also looking forward to GTA 5. However, I am also looking forward to Black Flag. Which is the new assassin's creed game.

However, I am most excited for the new release of the original Fable game. The only good Fable game is coming back in HD for the 10 year anniversary :D
 
I play GTA 4 and I must say I am getting a little bored of them. I have played them all and it never changes really. The story line changes a little but for the most part they are all the same. The Best GTA was Vice City.

I agree. Vice City was my favourite one of them all. I like the freedom the game has though. #5 looks to be good, but I can't be sure.

Only thing I don't like now playing the newer games on Vice City is you can't swim lol :P

There are quite a few games like that. I mean in reality a lot of game company took the world of GTA and adapted it to their game. Assassin's Creed, The Hulk, Some of the Spiderman games adapted an open world setting. To me GTA is the same thing just different people. I get tired of that after a while. They overkilled the game in my opinion.

Ya it is like the CoD games, just the same game over and over and over again just re skinned. Personally hate them now.
 
I mean I am a little behind then most because our system broke and it took a while to replace. Though I am Playing The first Assassins Creed. I know I will play two and maybe three or Brotherhood. After that is when I start to lose interest. CoD I play them but only because my son likes them so I co-op with him. The only game thus far that I have played 1 and 2 getting ready to play 3 is GoW.

the first AC is not as good as the second one by far. I personally don't get board of the AC series because they are not the same game over and over. They add new features, new game and the story lines are just amazing to follow.

Oh I will try the others but I never hold out hope that games that go beyond 4 will hold my interest.
 
Yea I'm starting to hate the COD series myself, the last one that I loved truly was the first Modern Warfare.

Ya, that was probably the height of the games and where it was at. Modern Warfare is probably what caused most of the cod players now love cod so much. Nonetheless, still does not change my opinion on the series.
