Most of us have social media accounts for our forums. I would like to know how people use these, how they help or don't help, and do you automate your postings from your forum to your social media account?
I just started to use the ones for Peak Forum again. I was never big on it. But since they are there, I want to put the information out.
I use mine to draw in traffic to my music lesson website where all the lessons are posted, not just a few of them. Well, all my traffic, aside from Forum Promotion I think, comes from social media.
I have just recently set up a new Twitter account for my forum. At the moment with me being a more general chat/off-topic kind of forum at the moment I'm not too sure what I will share at the moment but it will probably be threads that I create with news or updates. I am toying with the idea of bringing more things into the forum which may help the forum and may help me when promoting the forum on Twitter but at the moment, I have the Twitter account set up and ready for when I need to use it to hopefully bring traffic in.
I have not found the hack for the social media usability for my forum. I know that there are a couple of forum owners that make use of it, but it is something that I am not interested in using for a while.
