Suggestions for Day Trips w/DS 11

We did Ren Faire with my then 4 year old last year. It gets pricey fast but discount tix are available. DS loved it. This year he wants to go in costume so I found him a Robin Hood costume at Target on clearance last Halloween.

I thought Jelly Belly in Pleasant Prairie made Jelly Beans? Maybe I'm wrong? It's been years since I've been there so I can't recall and may be wrong.

Nope it's just a big distribution warehouse with a gift shop. They have a cute little train thing to give tours, but there's projector screens on which they show film of the beans being made in their factory (in another state). It's fun for little ones but not for older kids.
