I don't know if you guys have seen anyone do it, but I keep finding these threads with guys using rustoleum paint to paint there cars. Honestly if I had a keep high mileage car, I'd consider doing it myself. They prep the body just like you normally would but instead of spraying the paint on, they use foam rollers. Very interesting. You can do several coats of the paint and wet sand buff it like normal paint to get rid of any imperfections.

Check that out.

ya know, I've seen those laquer duplicolor cans at auto parts stores and I've wondered how easy to use they were. Seeing that video, makes me want to try it out and spray my trans am in the garage. My main question would be how is the durability of that paint? I just got a quote of $3500+ to paint my car and I'd love to do it myself.

Ya, thats exactly what Im thinkin. I want to paint my truck dark blue. Im very curious considering a basic paint job is like 700 bux.....

a 700 paint job is not fixing any dents, no color sanding and a single stage paint aka no clear coat. The 3500 estimate I got was for really high quality paint, with clear and buffing.
