The Confabulation Thread - Part 2

I hate it too sometimes, but it's my job, no use for me in complaining! ;)

Especially when you have a large piece of software (written in C, of all things), finding a bug can be a real PITA. In the software I'm currently working on there's several subsystems that each have to play nicely with each other, and everything runs concurrently, which makes it even more complex.
Do you get a lot of php/mysql jobs? Or is C, one of your main coding languages?

I'm employed full-time, but working from home. Most of my work is either in C or C++, sometimes Perl, and sometimes other languages.

I haven't done full-on PHP since 2003, and back then that was only in one of my private projects.

I don't know much SQL, I'm trying to improve that, however, since everybody needs it nowadays.

What I like about my job is I often get to design programs from the ground up ... it's the kind of things that can make a software developer real happy! :)

Tell me about it, nothing like going into code that someone else wrote and finding out it's junk.

Those people making that simply don't know how to do it any better. It takes a lot of expertise to write good code, and various techniques can help to avoid bugs, but even then, even the most experienced developers have problems avoiding bugs all the time. In many languages, simple typos can turn into monstrous bugs that are hard to find sometimes.

Good morning folks. Was up until 7a my girl..She's coming over tonight to meet mom for the first time. I need a few Xanax. :)

What's on everyone's plan for the weekend?

Don't have any plans, just go with the flow really. Nice, have fun and enjoy yourself mate. :) You'll be okay.

Happy Sunday everyone!

Just cleaning the house up and setting up some food int he crock pot for tonight!
Thinking about taking a trip to the zoo or a park.
Sounds like fun, be sure to take some pictures if you go to the Zoo. Especially with the monkeys!;)

I bet..lol
I'm really only able to see my girl on the weekends, but she may come up tonight after little one goes to bed. :D
Awesome bro. How far away did you say she was an hour or so? My girl is almost that far away we usually meet like 10 mins for her house. Still haven't been to her house yet though. :cautious:

**** forums keeping me form working on my assignment. That's it, time to get cracking! :bookworm:
I'm having the opposite problem! :/ Thinking and hoping this weekend will be pretty free of homework so I can get work done on web stuff, but I've done the same every week for a good month now and it hasn't happened. :(
