Same here in Texas. It's going to be a nice day. My sister's ex just came and picked up my niece that wouldn't stop crying. She's been fighting an ear infection for 6 weeks or longer now and the stupid doctors won't put tubes in one of her ears because they said the infection needs to go away first. But, they're stupid because there's no need for her ear infection to keep on lingering like it is. Poor baby.

I've been using it since last night, I dig it too :)

Let me know if anything is broken, it seems we're having some issues with post before.
I use firefox for everything, so generally everything works for me.

I got a Mac. Bleh. It's not *bad*, I just cannot get used to the work flow.

As an aside I have ship back my new computer's tower. Seems like a bad mobo. Whenever I put it under load when using say Hand Brake it just turns off. Booting into BIOS it turns itself off after 2 or 3 mins. Pulled it apart and tested each stick of RAM thinking it was that but no dice.

Finally had to call tech support. I must say I'm impressed with ZT System's tech support even though the first guy was in God-knows-where-astan, level 3 called me back the next morning and gave me an RMA. That was Monday I've been holding off because it's going to be a major PITA to work on my Netbook. I might just hook up my mac Mini in here while it's out for repair.

What odd is I'm on it right now and for email, surfing, even virtual machines, it runs fine.

Now since I don't have the box I'm gonna have to spend an arm and leg to have FedEx box it up.
 
So last week I got "wideband" internet from Time Warner. It's like 50 down / 5 up, ridiculously fast. I download a Ubuntu ISO in 3 minutes.

I've been enjoying it especially the upload speed. I was happy with 10 down but the upload speed was horrible on that plan.

The only problem is, I didn't realize it's $80/mo! I'm gonna have to make some more money online so I can rationalize the sick speed, lol.

The new modem comes with built in Wifi which seems nice but you cannot change the SSID or password. No big deal over all but I like customizing it. It collided collided with my existing WiFi networks so I had to pull my other router offline. :(

I'm moving to a new place this month and checking out what I can get as far as internet.
I'm with ATT and have uverse, 12mb package.. well uverse isn't offered at my new place and I can go with dsl which is only 6mb down.

so... I'm going to check out what the other providers can offer and hope I don't get bent over on "new hardware".. :unsure:
 
Usually the cable co. doesn't charge for hardware just a monthly rental fee like 2 bucks.

Over here we have DSL their fastest package is 5 down for $50 but you never get 5 down, you can barely even stream a You Tube video.

We were with AT&T for a while as well. My mom still has it in the house for the other computers, but Comcast seems to have the better speeds.
