The Confabulation Thread - Part 2

Congratulations on moving so much. It would take me all day to move lol.

Are you using wi-fi or what?

I've added you on both MSN and AIM.

And congratulations on your new house @Brandon - we want to see pictures!!!

Cool beans - I'm busy today should be around tomorrow and Wednes. :)
It's a 2 bedroom house, and yes I'll have a room for my office too. I think it's generally a dinning room but I don't like how it would be setup if I had a table there, so I'll place my desk there instead.

Sounds cool. I'll bring the beer! :)

I don't have my office setup, actually I'm sitting on the floor right now with the computer..lol

That's nothing to sneeze at! I just downloaded a Ubuntu, Mint, and Windows 8 ISO all at the same time in less than 10 minutes. :D

nice @Dan Hutter!

I have a 3 month special right now, we'll see what happens when that offer is over.
I'll be happy when I get my office setup again..lol
I did start up one of my automated programs and it's flying with no problems at all

As long as it serves it's purpose, who cares what the speed is
The speed is very important. Having slow internet is nothin to brag about. I'm glad we've been blessed with high-speed for so long. We have comcast and at&t in the house. :p The comcast is a bit faster.

I couldn't imagine going back to dial up or even crappy DSL in this area. It so slow you cannot even stream a SD YouTube video without constant stops.

I really bumped up my internet package because my neighbor is constantly streaming Netflix off my Wifi and it was slowing me down all around. The upload speed is what really has me static. I just uploaded a 5GB zip to Dropbox in like 2 hours!

haha yeah I should make the mofo pay but he's broke. Sold him my old Roku box at a loss just so he has somethign to watch.

oh ya, my girlfriend picked up two roku boxes off woot a few weeks back and she's going to let me play around with one.
I'm not even sure what it is..lol
I've read over your post over here about the roku a few times

Roku is awesome. The newer box's highest end model ($99) has a Wii like remote and comes with Angry Birds!

I use mine all the time primarily to send Shoutcast radio though my receiver. Then there's Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Amazon rentals/purchases and a bunch of other "channels"

Definetly check out http://thenowhereman.com/roku/. His channel is awesome; local news from all over the country plus national broadcasts and even some TBS stuff. Don't waste your time with the NBC channel. NBC pulled their broadcasts from the Newscaster channel (included with Roku) and put ads between every segment, it blows moose c__k.

It's Monday, what's everyone plans for the day, or the week?

I have two days to finish cleaning the apartment then I'm done with it.
My girlfriend is moving this week too, so I'll be helping her out as well.

moving moving moving!!
can't wait for it to be over, but I did get my computer setup last night.

@Brandon That's a pretty nice set up. And that's nice that your girlfriend is moving in. It's always nice to have someone to sleep with. ;)

no no no.. sorry, she isn't moving it.. just my son and I lol

she is moving to a new place as well, it's not to far from my house :)

Oh, that's cool though. How many houses are around you? Is it a big neighborhood? @Brandon

oh ya, houses all around
I'm actually in the older part of town now, it's nice :)
That's nice. My girl's parents stay on the other side of town by us - its like 20 to 30 minutes away. Her side is more country/quiet compared to over here, but they still have a lot of neighbors. They have a huge backyard compared to us, and there's a lake back there as well.

It takes me about 5 mins to drop my son off at school, and about 5 mins to get to work now as well.
I'm going to like living closer to downtown.
That's so great. It's good to live in a city where everything is close. Where I live, all the major things - like the mall, and such, are like 20 to 30 minutes away. Houston is a lot better than Spring - in terms of having places to go, and having things near you.
