The Confabulation Thread - Part 2

LOL!!! I live in Canada, they get paid about $30.00 an hour with benefits and can retire at age 55.
Wow, that's a lot of money. http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_much_money_does_a_postal_worker_earn
Median annual earnings of Postal Service mail carriers were $44,450 in May 2004. The middle 50 percent earned between $37,590 and $50,580. The lowest 10 percent had earnings of less than $31,980, while the top 10 percent earned more than $54,240. Rural mail carriers are reimbursed for mileage put on their own vehicles while delivering mail. Median annual earnings of Postal Service clerks were $40,950 in 2004. The middle 50 percent earned between $37,880 and $44,030. The lowest 10 percent had earnings of less than $36,040, while the top 10 percent earned more than $50,510. Median annual earnings of Postal Service mail sorters, processors, and processing machine operators were $39,430 in 2004. The middle 50 percent earned between $36,240 and $42,620. The lowest 10 percent had earnings of less than $24,290, while the top 10 percent earned more than $44,540. Postal Service workers enjoy a variety of employer-provided benefits similar to those enjoyed by Federal Government workers. The American Postal Workers Union, the National Association of Letter Carriers, the National Postal Mail Handlers Union, and the National Rural Letter Carriers Association together represent most of these workers.

Interesting.

How much do you think they get paid? Last I heard they don't get paid too much more than the minimum wage.

Right ... plus time pressure: We have some mail delivery companies in our country that deliver packages so hurriedly, they often don't even bother to ring a door bell, just place packages wherever convenient for them, and then hurry off to their next destination. Some of these services are used by high-profile companies like Apple, that's why I'll never purchase stuff from Apple Germany again ... (an expensive package almost got lost, and I got it only by accident!!) -- Apple = sweat shop supervisors

Ya, A fedex dude took off one day when he was supposed to pick up my HP because I didn't hear the bell ring. I took it to the shop the next day, I wasn't waiting for him to come again because when it hit 7 PM the next day, he didn't show up. He was supposed to be there by 6PM. Oh well.

That would have ticked me off. Apple seems will be having a bunch of the United postal services running around in the next two weeks or so. All those pre-orders for the iPhone 5.

I'm not sure, I just grabbed the check and put it on the frig..lol
Sounds like some Absolut is calling your name next weekend. :D

What's everyone up to today?

Not much here going to visit my buddy in a little bit. I generally sit there and be bored while he watches football and Nascar. Ick but to I'm bringing up my laptop to get some emails done.

Not much, my daughter is going home at 5 PM. Going to take her bike riding, and my sister outside the house for about an hour. I can't watch any football because my girlfriend has the TV, and plus, I can't watch the Patriots play unless I go to the bar. I've just been following the game on Twitter. @patriotsinsider has been tweeting about each play, and touchdown. So that works as well.

My weekends are almost always busy, this was no exception..lol
I'm upgrading a clients site right now to the latest 4.2.x
They have over one million post, just down to updating two templates and I'm done! :)

Ugh, it's 5 AM and I need to go to bed. Luckily, I slept a few hours earlier today! ;)

I'd like to run 10 miles by the end of the year
I don't know with my knee though, might not be an option.
You can do it though. Are you wearing knee braces? What's up with your knee?

Sore? Put some ice on it :D
