Bloggers/Media want Google in Topeka

We had our first group try and come up and challenge us
Grand Rapids has a group a little larger then ours, but they have more ppl in the town on facebook.

Anyways, we're still #1!

It's really been amazing to see the city and government get behind this. I've been in Topeka a few years now and never seen everyone agree on one thing. This could be HUGE for Topeka Google Kansas!! We would have the fastest city in the world.
We've made contacts with every profession about this.
We just made some big updates to the site.
We added several video and image galleries, as well as a forum built into wordpress called simple-press.
It's been hard to step away and go to bed every night :D
Less then 20 days left!
 
Brandon, a little off-topic....how well does the SimplePress work?

I was using BBPress on one install of WP and it was a little time consuming to modify and customize the software to our preferences.

It's actually working pretty good, we have it setup here and so far it's working like I want.
I do wish I could modify it a little more, there are tons of built in options, but I just want a "click for new post" link like we have on vbulletin.
I'm sure it can be done, I just haven't had time to look.

It does have nice "SEO" url's as well as being integrated into the sitemap, I'll update this review in a week to see how the search engine traffic has been from it.

No matter what happens, you and the rest of Topeka really made a fantastic effort and Google should award more than one winner! :D
