I really like this style, wouldn't mind having it on my personal blog.
We have several people in town that want to help blog about events going on, we needed a style like this to show all the content that will be flowing in.

Best Cities 2010: Topeka, Kan.

Ask Topekans why they love their city, and they’ll say it’s the quality of life. “It’s small enough that you still know everyone,” says Alissa Sheley, who has a 1-year-old. “But it’s big enough that there’s a lot to do.”
Some Topekans say their city is newly energized, thanks in part to a grassroots group called Think Big Topeka, whose mission is to promote the city. The group formed earlier this year through Facebook with the idea of attracting Google’s fiber-optic Internet experiment to their city. They asked Mayor William Bunten to change the city’s name to Google -- and he did, unofficially, for the month of March. To everyone’s surprise, the Internet powerhouse returned the favor by changing its name to Topeka on April Fool’s Day. The mayor received calls from media outlets around the country and the world.

Here is a video guide they did for Topeka.

Here is a new article in PC Topeka that mentions Topeka

Topeka might be best known for renaming itself Google, Kansas, throughout the month of March, but its Think Big Topeka campaign focuses more on its dedication to innovation and history of change. Topeka, the setting of Brown vs. Board of Education and birthplace of the AT&SF (Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe) Railway, wants to give the nation another gift in the form of innovation as well as new applications created with Google Fiber. It touts its citizens as creative, diverse, friendly, hardworking, and honest and hopes to use ultra-fast Internet to research cancer and biodefense solutions.

Topeka has also hosted various events to put its best face forward with Google. The city hosted a St. Patrick’s Day parade, inspired a flash mob, and planned an art walk to exhibit local creative talent. It also encouraged its citizens to participate in a makeover of the city in order to clean it up before Google representatives came through.

Here's an update from the google blog.

In February we announced our plans to build experimental, ultra-high speed broadband networks. Over the past several months, our team’s been hard at work reviewing the nearly 1,100 community responses to our request for information—not to mention the nearly 200,000 responses from individuals across the U.S.

Throughout this process, one message has come through loud and clear: people are hungry for better and faster Internet access. With that in mind, today we’re launching a new site called Google Fiber for Communities, where you can learn more about fiber networks and keep up-to-date on our project. You’ll also be able to advocate for common-sense federal and local policies that would help fiber deployments nationwide.

We also wanted to thank every community and individual that submitted a response, posted a YouTube video, started a website, joined a rally or otherwise let their voice be heard. We were so honored by the grassroots enthusiasm across the country for this project that we put together a short video to say thank you:
