With the combo of whatever I said it put the spanking one up. lol

Early??? Ummm it's 10 am here.....shoulda got spanked a few times already!!!! :lol:

I understand not liking some words, however im not going to give a word I dont like power over me I dont like the word **** and at times DH will use it and when he does its for a reason but im not going to throw stuff at him or yell at him cause of it hes a 41 year old man and its his right to use that word and if I react to it overly I am giving that word power over me

This thread reminds me of NoHio's "everyone be nice to me wahh wahh **** moan" thread. You can't expect or even ask everyone to adhere to your standards of behavior.

What makes CW awesome and different from other boards is the LACK of censorship. I personally would NOT want anyone to stop using these words when they feel like using them because when I see them used, that tells me a lot about who they are, what prejudices they carry, and how my progressive and liberal thinking may not really jive with them.

So please don't censor yourselves. Show me who you really are, not some glossed over nicey-nice politically correct version of who you are. Because then when you use the word "retarded" as an adjective describing another person, I know that I can wish a special needs child on you so you get how truly awful your attitude and words are. And when you call something or someone "gay", whether you try to make it funny by spelling it wrong or not, I know that I can wish a homosexual child on your house so I can see how quickly you join PFLAG and start damning people for doing the same thing you once did.

I hope you really don't mean this. I always think of you as sweet person. I personally would never wish a special needs child on ANYONE, because as a parent it must be heart breaking not to see your child achieve everything he/she wants. I am sure it has to be hard work, but aside from that, it has to be heart breaking. We as parent always want the best for our kids.

Same with the homosexual child. I would always embrace my child no matter what and will support them all the way, but my heart would be crushed every time my child did not feel accepted by some ignorant.

I remember when I was pregnant, people would ask me if I wanted a boy or a girl, and I would say that it didn't matter, and people would say, "yeah, as long as is healthy", and I always would say, I hope for healthy, but healthy of not, the baby would be welcome.

Thanks Lavendergirl.

I do have a special kiddo. And I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I love my DD and all that she has to offer-both good and not so great. But it can be hard. The hardest part for many is learning to accept the hand you are dealt and realize you cannot change it! It's like you grieve the loss of normal for your child. Some do well with it while others never are able to accept it and they are unable to live a happpy and fulfilling life!

Not literally in all seriousness. But I do wish that people who choose to use hate language would have a life event that causes them to double back and reconsider their self expression. Sometimes a wake up call is needed, KWIM?

But I also feel a little sorry for them that they lack adequate vocabulary to express themselves without using words that are inflammatory.
