what do you think of the new TSA pat downs?

it doesnt matter WHAT the government does. In the end, our freedoms will end to "disrupt the actions of the terrorists", which is exactly WHAT the terrorists want. If you dont "mind" a full body scan, your OWN PRIVATE BODY, then you open yourself up to a host of of "dont mind" mentalities. That's what the terrorist want. They want YOU to give up what you hold most dear. Give them enough time, let them keep chipping away and give the goverment absolute control, (start with planes, then trains, and public transportation, then cars where does it end?) and its a recipe for disaster....but you wont notice....because you "dont mind" the full body scan......

If the airlines, on their own, put these procedures in place, that would be their right as businesses to do so. I guarantee though, the airlines would never bother. Their right to do as they please supersedes our personal rights.

However, it is our government, the one charged with protecting our rights .. you know, those ones that are inalienable .. and this same government is the one denying us our rights.

As I've mentioned more than once, there is no need ... NO NEED to deny people's rights in order to provide valuable, workable security to travelers. Plain and simple.

My brother had an experience similar to that guys, but that was well before this new proceedure. Guess what he got out of it besides covered in urine? $50 voucher for his next trip. There was never a next trip. They - the airlines- are horrendous at helping people that have disabilities and don't understand urgency when presented.

Also after a very invasive surgery he had in California, he needed 10 tanks of oxygen to get back to NY. They only provided 3. After doctors were called, EMS etc. the airline finally allowed the tanks aboard after they were notified and approved it a week before. He was on full oxygen and would have been dead over Arizona if it was left to the airlines.
 
I don't know if this has been mentioned already, but have you guys heard about the flight attendant who was forced to remove her breast prosthesis? That's right...a flight attendant. If they'd do that to her, what do you think they'd do to a casual traveler?

I completely empahsize with this guy.... my only thought that kinda irks me is... I am himiliated about this... but can you please put a picture of me in the article... I mean if I am humiliated by something like this

I dunno maybe that's just me.

The government isn’t protecting us with the "new & improved" jack-booted thug TSA procedures. They’re trying to manipulate us into thinking they are protecting us and violating our constitutional rights in the process. For those who have no problem with that - click your heels together, snap to attention, raise your fist and shout ~ SIEG HEIL! ~ Why? Same ****, different day, results heading the same direction, and you already drank the kool aid.

Anyone who believes the TSA grab & grope routine is saving us from real terrorists probably also believes that taking firearms away from honest law abiding citizens would stop random shootings & gangbanger wars. Get this straight, peeps –

CRIMINALS, INCLUDING THOSE OF THE TERRORIST VARIETY, DON’T FOLLOW THE RULES!!!
 
I saw an article the other day saying that the terrorists are (or are planning to) insert things into their bodies - such as having fake breast implants placed inside themselves. They go into it knowing that they will die, so placing something like that into themselves is ok for them. So, body scans that they are doing at the airports will not detect these explosives. I'm all for making we are all safe, even if body scan are deemed necessary. But, don't make me and others do it if it isn't going to REALLY keep us safe. Luckily, we don't have the money anyway to fly so I don't have to worry about it. I'm sure somebody is having a good laugh that us Americans have to go through this unpleasantness.

Maybe they could get gyno's to do the annual exam there while they're at it. Just don't forget to use the sparkly rag! :giggles:
 
Haven't been following this as closely as most, but am I correctly remembering that the scans/pat downs are not on all people - they are random? What's the point, then? For those that feel safer, do you only feel 25% safer, or whatever percentage of people that are checked?

Basically anyone that does not want their bodily nooks and crannies displayed on a screen for the viewing pleasure of the TSA will need to have those nooks and crannies patted down. It's your choice, unless you have a questionable nook or cranny then you get patted down anyways.
