What is Art?

There are many forms of art in the world, yet there has been a debate going on for years on what art truly is.
Many people are convinced that art is drawings and paintings, while others believe that music, photography, prose, poetry and the like are included in this category.

Personally, I believe that art is a creative way of self-expression - something with a meaning and personality towards it, this obviously takes in all of the above categories.

What do you think art is? Is art really just drawings and paintings, leaving music to be music, prose to be prose, etc.?
 
Anything can be considered art. But these days, art has become a pointless term. A canvas painted entirely orange is art now. A dented bucket on a pedestal is art now. I disagree with it.
 
Something I'm not interested in. I went on a "date" with this guy once and he took me to an art museum.

I will do.
I believe when fords8 created the thread, it was a way of improving activity by giving people something to post on while waiting for other threads to gain activity. But I'm sure he appreciates your feedback.
