I grew up watching News Channels because my father worked as a journalist and he always played BBC TV. I watched BBC not because I was interested in world news, I started watching BBC because I was trying to learn the English language. Later, when I started working in a newspaper I started watching a lot of news channels and Al Jazeera English became my favorite. These days whenever I watch news TV, I always watch Al Jazeera.
I don't really have a favourite news channel as I make a conscious effort to avoid watching the news. It really isn't something that I feel I need to do. If I do need to look at the news for any reason I tend to head to the BBC website and I feel that is a more reliable source that the more tabloid news sites.
