What song moves you?

Yahweh, You Are Near.

In church, every single time. :cry1:
One halloween night, my dad and two co-workers were viciously attacked by another co-worker. My dad was the only survivor.
This song was sang at church that weekend and the entire family burst into tears. It still makes me do that.
God was holding my dad in the palm of his hand that horrific night.

Like Mary, there are lots of religious songs that can make me cry as soon as they start to play - On Eagles Wings & Be Not Afraid come to mind.

Another song that always gets me is Christmas Shoes.

Elvis
(In The Ghetto)

That one gets me, too. We grew up on Elvis at our house. Other ones of his- Don't Cry Daddy, Ol' Shep, Amazing Grace, Why Me Lord...etc etc.....

BUT have any of you ever heard this one= (Jimmy Dean, IOU)

I was gonna say..... Amazing Grace and How Great Thou Art too ♥

Religious songs...
What Wondrous Love is This (traditional). I choke up every time.
Sons & Daughters - God of Mercy
Johnny Cash - Redemption
and another vote for Be Not Afraid

"Pachelbel's Canon" in D...the first time I ever heard it was in the movie "Ordinary People" : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4_LD3Luo38 - that movie affected me deeply, and I fell in love with that piece. It was played at my wedding...and turns me into a crying fool at every wedding that it's played at that I've been to since.

A haunting song that moves me to tears is Morrissey's "Lifeguard Sleeping, Girl Drowning": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BvmbKGtZHeI - it's one of my favorites for sure,

I hate to admit it, but "If I Die Young" by The Band Perry gets me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7NJqUN9TClM&ob=av2e I'm more used to it now, but for the longest time I got so emotional that I'd even turn it off.

These are just a few that come to mind at the moment. There are many more. I sang in many choirs for years and felt the highest highs, singing...

It's interesting - the songs that pierce the heart.

Ha that's what is so funny. I don't listen to Christian Rock and have never heard any songs.I am more of a boisterous musin listener. I do like a good song at church and am dissatisfied with most of what we sing. I think if I liked the songs more I would attend more. This song (I Can Only Imagine) just grabbed me and won't let go.

Not sure about song... but it appears to be reported in another thread that KORN does it for georgie!

yes this song moves me too. I have cried a few times with that one. It is by Mercy Me. They have lots of good songs. There is a song by Mark Schultz about a dad praying over his son who has cancer I think. "He's my son" is the title, good cryfest. "remember me" is another good song by him.

"when I let it go" is a great song by either Sierra or Point of Grace. Need to listen to that song again.

Joan already got my two church ones....On Eagles Wings and Be Not Afraid. As soon as the music starts on those ones, the tears start to flow.

I'm Already There, by LoneStar - I remember Diane Sawyer did a 1 yr annivery special of 9/11 with all the kids that lost a parent. That song was playing in the background and now every time I hear it, I think of those families. The tears start to fall.

"I'm already there, take a look around, I'm the sunshine in your hair, I'm the shadow on the ground. I'm the whisper in the wind, and I'll be there til the end, can you feel, the love that we share. I'm already there" :cry1:
