I play basketball at the local YMCA and in Men's Leagues across the city. My knees would take too much of a pounding playing on the street, so I stick to indoor courts.
All the sports I play (basketball, tennis, football, badminton) are all played at the typical park. A park has everything except for the actually balls themselves.
Indoors for basketball. I love hearing the ball bounce on the hardwood floor and hearing the swish of net as I shoot a mid-range j. It's smooth.
When I play basketball outside it's not the same at all, sometimes the nets are missing or the grip on the ball is lessened because of the humidity in the air. Plus there are bugs
Golf at the golf course, hockey on the pond durning the winters, baseketball at the ymca when there is no one around. And lastly football durning the halftime when Im drinking and think I can play in the NFL. lol
I like to play flag football with my friends alot at one of the nearby colleges. A good 6 on 6 game is always fun. Flag football is a good fit in between tag and tackle as well. I mean you avoid the big injuries but unlike tag you can also stiff arm, spin, etc to avoid getting your flag taken.
I like to play basketball with my friends in my yard. I got a pretty decent bball setup there, we spent hundreds (literally) of hours there in the summer, either playing or just hanging out. I actually never liked basketball gyms, I like the nature'ish atmosphere Im in when im playing outside
There are usually school fields near an elementary school not too far from my neighborhood. The walk is about 10 minutes, and I usually gather several friends and play soccer, basketball, tennis, and cricket, all depending on how many people are already in the field. There are other fields, but the fact that no one goes there makes it difficult to want to go there, if you know what I mean.
