Worst Christmas/Hanukkah gift you have ever received

lol fudge and cheese cake are 2 of my specialties
oh wich reminds me i also got a cheesse cake pan for christmas i wasnt all impressed with that gift either

(although i wasnt impressed with the gifts he gave me i never told him that because i think that is rude, i think its the thought that counts but sometimes i wonder what the hell he was thinking, however you have seemed to clear that up for me irish)

My worst gift was... the awful, much-talked-about-yet-seldom-seen, christmas sweaters!! Dun dun dun!! Seriously, they were horrible. One had a house on it, with fluffy white smoke billowing out. *shudder* And what do you do? You can't toss 'em out when they're from the grandparents...

i know what you mean my grandmother bought me a peach sweatshirt with this wierd tapestry thing across the front, i was in highschool at the time i kept the darn thing in my closet for like 4 or 5 years then i finally gave it too goodwill

Yeah I would have to say that the worst thing was the big "NOTHING" that is for sure. It was from my ex fiancee and he was like well... um.. you ring was gonna be your Christmas gift. I was like what? The ring is for something special.. ENGAGEMENT.. grr that pissed me off.. needless to say I didn't see any gifts from that relationship ... hence the word EX :) *now don't get me wrong. it would have been fine but all he did was **** about having to spend the day with my family *we shared holidays... and he cried and complained the hole time!!!! my family even got that a$$hole gifts.. what did have to complain about.. grrrr.. :P

I don't think it is fair that a guy has to buy other Christmas gifts in addition to an engagement ring. Do you realize how much money is invested in a diamond? I never understood why women want more than the ring at Christmas. After all, the ring costs more combined than all of the other gifts you would receive. Anyhow that is just my opinion. Perhaps it is better to become engaged at Valentine's. At least an additional gift like a box of chocolates isn't going to set the poor fellow back as much.

i would have to say my worst gift was given to last year by my ex, when talking about gifts i had mentioned that i liked silver and not glod jewlery well he told me that i wouldnt be getting any of that for christmas well christmas came and i did get silver.... silverware

you are still ****ing about that LOL
i do have to admit though that was a sad christmas present since he knew you already had some

Ya' know...I hate to say it...but you may be right, Irish. Valentines would be a win-win situation. Present the ring in a box of candy (hand-tied of course) and the guy gets to eat the chocolate that would have gone in the spot where the ring is.

Diamonds are overrated anyway. At least, large ones. An equally impressive showing could be made with a synthetic stone or even a well-cut sapphire/aquamarine/etc.

In my own defense here, I would not mind getting an engagment ring on Christmas for a gift. That wasn't the problem, which I really didn't explain... I guess the problem was I didn't receive anything at all in our relationship and I sent a lot on him for Christmas. Besides.. I never received the ring either. So he won either way

White sapphires are absolutely beautiful - just as beautiful as diamonds and less expensive. Myhusband ususally gets me a piece of jewelry for Christmas - something really lovely.

I hope you have been a good girl so that Santa will bring you that list you submitted, mrsd. And I do hope you get that jewelry do hickey you were asking for! You know the fancy jewelry box you asked for!

I've been VERY good, Santa er.. um I mean Irish! I have photos of the jewelry armoire posted on the fridge. Think he'll notice it?:p

Armoire! For the life of me I could not think of that word and I was too lazy to look it up. I thought of asking the women around the building but they are not classy enough to be familiar with the word.

I do hope you get it. You deserve it now since you are so disappointed about not getting your tree this week-end. Call and tell his secretary what you want. Perhaps she will go shopping for him. LOL

You know, Irish - I think you're on to something! I'll call his Office Manager!!! Thanks!!

Just call me Santa's little helper. On second thought don't! That is the name of the Simpson's dog!
