"Brain Stew"

I'm having trouble trying to sleep
I'm counting sheep but running out
As time ticks by
And still I try
No rest for crosstops in my mind
On my own... here we go
My eyes feel like they're gonna bleed
Dried up and bulging out my skull
My mouth is dry
My face is numb
****ed up and spun out in my room
On my own... here we go
My mind is set on overdrive
The clock is laughing in my face
A crooked spine
My sense's dulled
Passed the point of delerium
On my own... here we go
My eyes feel like they're gonna bleed
Dried up and bulging out my skull
My mouth is dry
My face is numb
****ed up and spun out in my room
On my own... here we go

Yeah, thats about a good description. nearly four thirty am, still not sleepin, anyone know if you can actually die from insomnia? i havn't slept in probably 3 or 4 days, and am definetly getting a bit on the loopy side. :eusa_wall

Hmmm, not sure if you can die from insomnia, all I know is that you can flick through every single tv channel all night long and the best you will find is either a foreign motor race which you will watch just in case there is a crash or an episode of Friends which you have seen hundreds of times but you will watch it anyway. I usualy find a herbal remedy helps me get off to sleep these days..........:eusa_pray

i'll give the herbal thing a try, i ended up watching a large chunk of the seconds season of babalon 5 to kill time. **** thats a good show.

That's not good for you, deadpool. Maybe you should go see your doctor or something - I've heard tho that some of these new prescription sleep aids cause more trouble than they cure. Go for the herbal things as piotrskut suggests - I know many that swear by it! I've never heard of anyone dying from insomnia, but it certainly can screw up your health quite badly!

yeah i've been to a doctor befor, aparently it's psycological, so no perscriptions till i see a shrink, no money for a shrink, and i wouldn't take the meds anyways, i have issues with pills.

Then definitely the homeopathic route. I don't necessarily believe in shrinks, anyway.

eh i was a psych major for a while, i enjoy applying what i learned to help my friends, but i just think that most of the shrinks i've met via class take themselves too seriously and don't help people figure out whats wrong, just find something for them to blaime.

yaaay another night of no sleep, eh sorry just felt like sharing.

Ever since I graduated, I have been online all night and sleeping all day. Not that bad of a routine, I tell ya...

Warm Milk

A modest carbohydrate snack or a glass of warm milk may help. Triptophane an ingredient found in milk or turkey promotes drowsiness. Have you ever wondered why you become so sleepy after a big turkey dinner? It is the triptophane. Mothers give their babies warm milk and shortly after the child ingests the warm milk, they nod off.

A warm shower or bath helps also. Or if you have the TV in your bedroom, turn on a boring show, close your eyes and listen to it, don't watch it, just listen in your favorite go to sleep position and you will be snoring in no time. Reading an extremely boring book helps as well!

Good luck! I know what it is like to not be able to sleep. Some people suggest a walk in the fresh air, not too soon before you want to sleep. Brisk exercise revitalizes you and we don't want that, do we.
And no, no one has ever died from the lack of sleep. You may feel like you are dying but it passes.
