Your favourite game

NBA Street Vol. 2 (PS2). Almost everything in that game is better than the original. :)
 
I can't believe no one even mentioned Super Metroid.

It's the greatest game ever :)

Lately I'm definatly enjoying Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance 2, NBA Street Vol. 2, and Topspin for Xbox. Can't put them down. ;)

For PC, Dungeon Siege: Legend of Aranna!
 
hmm.... that's a tough one. It might be Bard's Tale III or Wasteland for the apple II or possible FFX. Of course I probably spent more time playing Madden and EA sports NHL games from the early 90s on Sega Genesis than any other game. You couldn't go 5 minutes without a challenge in hockey or football in the dorms.

My absolute favorite game of all time is The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. It's superior to all other GameCube games. Though, with Halo 2 coming out this year, it's going to be very tough to decide if it'll be my new favorite game.
 
It has to be vice city on the ps2 for me. I played that game more than any other I have ever played :)

Second comes this old game on the master system I played at a friends house once. He sold the game and I can't think of the name of it and nor can he :(
 
It always sounds weird when I say this, but Street Fighter 2 and (more importantly) Mortal Kombat totally changed my life. I knew I wanted to be a programmer since I was playing around on my Commodore 64 at 8 years old... but when those two games came out in my local arcade, I was in awe.

Mortal Kombat came out about a year after SF2, and in my opinion, it blew it away. I can distinctly remember hearing the sounds of uppercuts and Scorpion yelling "Get over here!" It was the first time I was really conscious of sound quality in a video game. That, combined with the real photographic sprites, and the great gameplay made me realize just how good a game could be. It inspired me, I wanted to make fighting games!

Chrono Trigger
All those SNES classics...
 
I have many games that I like. Here's a couple of them:

I have to agree with BrianH Final Fantasy VIII is definetly an awesome involving RPG. As for some of my other favourite games i enjoy playing various Half-Life mods including but not limited too:

Natural Selection - 50% half-life 50% Starcraft NO JOKE
The Specialists - Matrix half-life has lotsa cool features such as slow motion etc.
CS - WC3 MOD - Ah yes counterstrike with warcraft 3 mod you can level up just like heroes and cast spells/auras
