The world would be pretty boring without the ****. :cartwheel:

I worked with this man who was soooo anti gay, I informed him how boring the world would be..that many of the worlds most creative people were gay ( not stereo typing, just MY observation)

Eh, he's prolly closeted and pissed at the world that he's gay. :jack:

I think a lot of things:

I think **** chose to be gay as much as I chose to be straight. It's not a choice, it's just who they are.

Regarding "Christians" citing Levitical law as it applies to ****, they neglect to include Jesus' New Testament proclamation that we are no longer under law, but under grace. And that's why we can eat shrimp and bacon. HELLO!!! The Bible isn't a salad bar. You can't take what you want and leave the part that is less appealing behind.

With respect to Christians accepting ****, I believe it's a mandatory part of our faith to accept them the way God accepts everyone. The Bible doesn't say "for God so loved the straight people who were worth being loved" it says "for God so loved the world." That includes everybody. God's love doesn't leave room for discrimination, so I don't either.

I have cousins that are gay. I have friends that are gay. And the best pastor I have ever been blessed to know and who influenced my personal faith journey the most even after graduating from a Christian high school and Baptist Bible College and attending churches since I was 4 years old was gay. I can't hate the ****. I can only love them as I love myself, because they're my neighbors. We are instructed to love our neighbors as ourselves. That's how I roll.

Personally, I feel sad for people who discrimate against anyone like that woman you spoke to. They're missing out on knowing some pretty awesome people!

I'm as heterophobic as I am homophobic. Do what you want in the privacy of your home, but keep your darn PDAs private, not public!

If I'm thinking "get a room", whether it is a heterosexual or homosexual couple then you are in my face and I don't like it.

And why do **** need a parade anyways?

My guess is for the same reason Puerto Ricans and the Irish NEED parades...because they want to celebrate who they are.

Makes no matter to me
If you are you are if your not your not.
I have lots of stuff to worry about then to tell others how they should live their life. I live mine in accordance to what I think is right and who am I to say others are wrong.
I have an issue with people harping on others on how they should or shouldn't do things under the cover of "religion"
if that religion works for you GOOD. have at it
But who is one to say that that is the "right" religion for everyone? I'd hate to be the one on judgment day being told ummm yeah you thought you lived a good life but really that was the wrong religion so have a nice after life.... budda, mahomad, karma whatever is actually what you "should" have been practicing....

Yesterday as picked up a newspaper from the local stand, I noticed that Saturday was the annual Gay Pride Parade. As I read it I chuckled. The person next to me was a movie regular I see her there all the freaking time (she's about 70ish). She asked "Anything new?" I told her without thinking, "I guess the GPP was yesterday." She then comments that she wishes they would have all stayed in California.

She then asks me my opinion (bad idea). I tell her that I have no problems with it, they do not hurt or bother me. She then says that god considers them an abomination. So I said "Oh, god said that huh?" She replies yes it's in the bible and I can show it to you. I then tell her that the bible was written by people. She says "Oh don't give me that, it was inspired by god!"

I think to myself who am I to say what is or what isn't inspired by god so I leave it at that. But I do wonder if god inspired the Spanish Inquisition, or those priest that rape little boys, or countless other atrocities.

So I figure I would ask you all what are your thoughts on this subject?

M

Guess God inspired:
EX 21:20-21 With the Lord's approval, a slave may be beaten to death with no punishment for the perpetrator as long as the slave doesn't die too quickly.
NU 15:32-36 A Sabbath breaker (who had gathered sticks for a fire) is stoned to death at the Lord's command.

DT 21:10-13 With the Lord's approval, the Israelites are allowed to take "beautiful women" from the enemy camp to be their captive wives. If, after sexual relations, the husband has "no delight" in his wife, he can simply let her go.

JS 10:10-27 With the help of the Lord, Joshua utterly destroys the Gibeonites.
JS 10:28 With the Lord's approval, Joshua utterly destroys the people of Makkedah.
JS 10:30 With the Lord's approval, Joshua utterly destroys the Libnahites.
JS 10:32-33 With the Lord's approval, Joshua utterly destroys the people of Lachish.
JS 10:34-35 With the Lord's approval, Joshua utterly destroys the Eglonites.
JS 10:36-37 With the Lord's approval, Joshua utterly destroys the Hebronites.
JS 10:38-39 With the Lord's approval, Joshua utterly destroys the Debirites.

On and on..........

One of my friend's from grammar school is gay. Doesn't change the person he is whatsoever.

We grew up together and we all knew but he tried to hide it by getting married. He was married for 9 years. He told me he loved being married but one day realized that in the end he was gay and he would be happier being a gay man.

Funny, I hadn't talked to him in years but when we reconnected, he said, you know I'm gay right, I said, DUH, we all knew no big deal. He is still the same person we hung out with.

Got no issue with straight, gay or bisexual.

Do what ya want, don't care.....wish I could think of something witty to say and all but plumb out of funny stuff:)
