I can't believe that you would actually try to take the jump from a predatory dysfunction that scars children for life to someone who is attracted to the same sex. And then you tried calling it "logic". Surely you jest.

In actuality, pedophiles and homosexuals were lumped together as having a "disorder" 25 - 35 years ago. Of course, now it is known and commonly understood that just because a man is attracted to men doesn't mean he is aroused by little boys. It's two completely different things.

It's your brand of hate mongering that prevents equality. It's not logical, it's cruel, it's discriminatory and it's WRONG. And that's the kindest way I can say that.

See, Nohio...aren't you glad we joined this conversation?

Eliciafay...why can't you have your opinion and I'll have mine...I've noticed in other posts that sometimes you "slap people down" who don't agree with you. Yours is not the only opinion out there. It's not hate-mongering to have another opinion...I'm not advocating hurting people, writing derogatory things on their garage doors, etc. Mike wanted us to tell him what we thought, so I did.

First off, I wasn't equating being gay with being a pedophile (thank you to those readers who posted that they did not take my post that way). I was suggesting that argument for normalization of pedophilia has been made by the suggestion that the pedophile is "born that way" and cannot change. Homosexuality and pedophilia are both a perversion of what God intends healthy sexual relationships to be. As they are both sinful, they are harmful to all the individuals involved, not only emotionally but spiritually in their relationships to God.

I've read your posts and understand that you don't believe being gay is a sin. There are some Christians that believe that. But there are a LOT of Christians who believe that the Bible tells us it IS a sin... I love my gay Christian friends...but they choose to remain celibate. It's challenging for them, no doubt, and lonely in some ways, but they want to be in a right relationship with God so that's the choice they are making and I respect that.
