Andrea Yate's verdict

OK kill her, however why are you not upset with her husband who should have been charged with negligible homicide - 5 counts? He was aware of her mental state yet he left the children totally in her care.

Well he is guilty and should pay somehow also. Not being put to death but punished. How do you leave a kid with a nut job like that?

This was going to be my point. Knowing how fragile her mental state actually was, would you actually leave your children alone with her? Sure his mother would come by every now and then... but here is a woman that repeatedly said how she would kill her own children and even herself. The husband, in my opinion, should be charged as an accomplice to this, because it was his stupidity that left the children in harms way. If someone is threatening to murder her own kids, maybe it is time to distance them for a while. (at least).

omygosh.. I would have had the first post on this thread if it weren't for my f*n computer going crazy earlier today. SHE NEEDS THE DEATH PENALTY!!!! There should not be any "insanity plea" to me that is saying.. I'm going to kill someone and then plea insanity because I KNOW I'LL GET OFF!!!!! I would never imagine killing my own children *if I had kids* I would love to have kids right now.. but NO women like this crazy **** **** get them and then kill them! AND her husband should be charged as an accomplice I agree with bad_habit! This just ticks me off beyond ... any words can say. She needs to die! I am a firm believer that if you shoot someone you should be shot.. if you drown someone.. you should be drowned so you have to suffer the same pain they did!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, I agree that Rusty should have gotten something for this. Did y'all know that he recently got remarried in the same church his babies' funerals were held?

God willing they will not have children.

Rusty got the perfect out, he is rid of Andrea and the kids and can play around with his new bride in fast cars.

Sorry, I don't buy "she has to be crazy to do what she did" defense. You could apply that to any outrageous crime.

Yes you could and many do. It is an excuse to do stupid things and get away with it.

Negligible homicide? you're fishing now Anglo

How so? He is guilty of not protecting those children when he was fully aware of his wife's illness.

Did y'all know hahah we got a coutnry'un on our hands!

Anglo, so then anyone that's every been related to a person with a metnal illness that has harmed someone has committed negligible homicide?

Yea he new she was abt **** crazy, but no RATIONAL personc ould believe she would go to this extent.

This I have no idea what you are saying but far be it for me to ask.

You surly do not mean this in all seriousness, right? He was living in the home. He was aware of her condition; he chose to ignore it; he should be charged.

There was a child in this Province who was starved to death by his mother. His father worked all the time so he really didn't pay much attention to the condition of the kid. Both parents were charged with the child's death.

Rusty Yates should be charged.
Yea he new she was at **** crazy, but no RATIONAL person could believe she would go to this extent.
There is nothing rational when dealing with a mental case. Nut bars are capable of anything.

I agree with you the husband should have to serve some jail time for his stupidity. I don't know why in the first place they didn't separate the mother from the children knowing she could be a threat? Did they not know at first?

Another thing that annoys the hell out of me, is the husband's attitude. In my opinion, he is far to cavalier about this. Do you remember Fred Goldman, the father of the man OJ Simpson killed, and how he acted? He was very upset, and oft times cried and screamed when discussing the case. This guys acts as though nothing happened. He said he is "happy" for Andrea. Give me a break. Sorry, he doesn't sound like a man who had all of his children horribly murdered, but hey, that is just me.

I agree Nova!! Let's just say I had the guts to do this to my children *which would never happen* and I plead insanity and got it... my husband would be doing everything in his power to get me put in jail I am positive! It is murder and those are your children.. how can you be "happy" that your ex wife got away with killing YOUR five children... give me a break ppl. she needs the death penalty and he needs to get something out of it too. This is ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You bring up an interesting point about the husband. Let's just say for the sake of argument that he wanted to protect the children by not leaving them in his wife's care. With whom should he have left them? Someone in the family had to earn money so obviously he couldn't do it himself.

He did, his mother. And on a day she was late Andrea made her move. SOme jobs will fire you for being late and working at NASA there is no exception. Besides he had taken off a lot more work than that and maybe he was in deep. Once your PTO is gone and you start taking off more and more and being late most companies here don't care why and they fire you then your left jobless and they will give you a bad report.

Shoot, I once got fired for taking time off to take my kid to her heart doctor.

Hey bob, nice to see you back. How goes the battle?

As for Yates, in addition to having family, he could have had hired help to be there as well. Bring in a domestic to help and I am sure with his family's financial assistance he would have been able to afford one. I would rather be in debt and have my children safe then save a few pennies and risk the safety of my family.

Rusty Yates is not an innocent victim here. Nova made a point when he said that the man has shown very little emotion and that he is acting much too cavalier.

I am surprised they are not screaming for his head on a platter as well.
