Boston Marathon Bombing 2013

RIP! :( This world is getting crazier and crazier. It really makes me lose my faith in mankind.
 
has anyone taken the blame yet?
and were the bombs actually on the street? because if they were, i think it was only meant to scare, not to actuallt kill. Lets be honest here. Anyone with the least intelligence, if they wanted to kill anyone, they would have put the bombs at the beginning line, no?

I don't believe so.
From what I've seen, the bombs were ground-level. Personally, I think they aimed to kill or at 'least injure, but I don't think placement would be much of an issue since there were plenty of people at the event; the starting and finishing line would have been the most busiest.

They were in bins in the crowd right next to the finishing line which is the busiest part of the marathon. There were also another two that didn't go off. I think we can assume that they were planted to kill people; but what sick person would do such a thing is a different question. The IRA are known to use the explosives in bins tactic but I don't know why they would do it.
 
i think the starting line is the busiest when it comes to actual crowd. a lot of people were in the marathon and i dont mean the public, i mean the contestants
 
Yeah the crowd is largest at the start when you include the contestants, but the blasts weren't large enough to hurt the runners too badly (see: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=046MuD1pYJg Only watch if you can take it as it's disturbing) so I think the spectators were the target. That or they overestimated the power of the bombs. Or it was easier for them to plant the bombs at the finishing line? Who knows.
 
My stomach turned when I found out about this.
My thoughts go out to the ones who died, were injured and also the friends of family of the dead and wounded.
Hope they all heal well - the ones who survived.
And for the ones who sadly died to rest in peace, justice will be served.
 
the images from this are so so hard to look at.
especially of runners losing their legs... i mean, running is like their whole life for a lot of those people.
i really don't understand the world sometimes.
 
When they were holding their funerals, some Anti-Gay church or something protested AT their funerals. With signs and boards it was horrible. How could you be so disrespectful? Anyways I felt sickly when I heard about this. And the runners not being able to run anymore, which would have been their dream. Just.. I don't understand some people and violence anymore. \:

Westboro Baptist Church. -_- Anon/4chan hacked their Facebook in retaliation.

They're investigating two people at the moment; one's dead after a shootout and the other's on the loose, presumed armed and dangerous.
 
Yeah, it turns out the two bombers were Russian brothers and you know the little eight year old boy that died? He apparently is seen in a photograph standing right next to one of the bombers. This is so sickening I can't even begin to describe how angry and upset it makes me. I hope they catch the other guy and that he gets what he deserves as well.
 
They just caught the guy alive. Hopefully this means we'll get to find out why they did it.
 
I was really unhappy when I heard about this, and I totally condemn it. But to be honest, it makes me really upset and bothered when I see all this fuss being made about some little explosion in Boston, while most people don't give a **** about all the people in Syria who are getting killed and massacred each day!

This is also very true however I think because people are now "used" to what's going on in Syria they're kinda just getting on with their lives. People get all shocked and discuss the current news really. Once this Boston thing dies down, loads of people will stop thinking about the victims too.

I wholeheartedly agree; it's quite disgusting when you think about it. I've seen a couple of images on social media stating the same thing, so we're not alone in thinking it.
