One halloween night when I was about 21 years old, my sister and I, our cousin and 2 friends went out for some late night trick or treating.
-yes, we were too old, but we got some candy anyway, and that is what matters :D
We were on the way home, and as my sisters car neared the main street of our neighborhood, we noticed 3 bright lights in the sky. They looked like airplanes, but they were too low in the sky. We talked over the possibilities as we got closer to home. The car turned onto another street, and we could see the position of the lights better. As we drove on, we saw the 3 lights move together and apart as if for a definite purpose. Something was going on.
Turning down another street, it seemed the lights were in the area we were headed for. Things were definitely getting creepy.
We could now see that the lights were to the right of our street, so we decided rather than turn left and go home, we would continue straight and investigate. I recall that as the car passed our street, the air seemed electrified. Like that static feeling you get when you take clothes from the dryer and realize you forgot to use a fabric softener sheet.
And you know how people say they were so frightened that their hair stood on end? Well, it really happens. And I never knew there was hair on the back of my neck. It too was sticking straight out and up.
My sister drove very slowly now, just barely creeping along toward the area where the lights were. Suddenly, the 3 lights stopped moving. Then they started coming toward our car- very fast! I don't know how she did it, but my sister turned that huge Monte Carlo around in a second and sped down the street and to our house. We were terrified! We stumbled into the house where dad was watching tv in his recliner. He was startled and then didnt know what to think when we all began telling him at once what we saw. He probably thought we'd been drinking or smoking pot.
I called the airport (who do you call to report a UFO?) all they had to say was "there have been no reports of anything unusual in that area." I replied "Well there has been now!" I guess the woman thought I was a goofball. It was halloween, after all.
hboy:
This happened many years ago, and when my sister and I talk about it now, she says she sometimes wonders if she imagined it. I tell her we can't all have imagined the same thing.
I kind of wish we'd stayed there when the lights approached, just to see what was going on. :ut-oh:
Have you had any close encounters?
:ufo:
