I also think there is a night and day difference between Schaumburg and Oak Brook Wildfire. Especially with the customers. We are closer to Oak Brook but eat at Schaumburg because our baby sitter ( my parents) lives across the street. We prefer Oak Brook.
I have a friend who is a server at Oak Brook and will pick up shifts at Schaumburg. She makes a lot less $$$ at the Schaumburg location. She said some of the Oak Brook servers won't work there because the money is so much less.
As for the location, the area is definitely not the same as say 10 years ago. Our family and fiends are dying to get out but can't because of the hit they will take when they sell their house. You should see what my parents paid for their house and how much the house next door sold for. On saturday DH saw the new neighbors and joked about how bad the neighborhood has gotten. He was not joking. They pay crazy taxes for what? My parents are really sad about how their retirement home and the area they raised their kids has turned out. My Mom wants to take the hit and get out ASAP. My Dad doesn't want to lose $$$. So everyday he will have to continue to listen to Mom complain. That cracks me up![]()
We've eaten at both locations. We eat here in Schaumburg when it's just us but DH works in Oakbrook and we tend to eat there with extended family if we are celebrating birthdays or other family locations because the sales tax is cheaper there than here and when you get a big group together, the bill is often a few hundred dollars so the tax savings is worth it. The level of service is about the same at both locations but I actually think the food tastes better in Schaumburg.
I'm not sure what to make of your post though. I've lived in Schaumburg since 1992 and while some areas have changed and aren't as nice, your post makes it sound like all of Schaumburg is basically riff raff or something ...
