How did you meet your spouse?

I met my DH in 1998. On AOL of all places... when ppl used to use AOL :)

We met up after chatting online... and the rest is history! 9-8-98 is the anniversary of our first date. Can't believe that was 13 years ago!

Met dh senior yr of college - he was starting grad school and in charge of the apartments we lived in. he doesn't remember the first meeting because he was checking everyone in, but my friends wouldn't leave him alone and invited him to everything we did. We got married a week before our first anniversary and our first home (three rooms including the bathroom!) was in a boys dorm where he was the residence director. We've been married now for almost 12 years! And sometimes I feel like I'm living in a boys dorm again because we have four boys of our own...

OK.....here goes!:giggles:

Growing up in a small town of 500 people, I did what all boys are "suppose" to do....date girls. Yes, I lost my virginity to a girl! OMG, WTF!

Shall I continue, or are you all sick of me yet?

.............So, back to the story.

Dating girls just didn't seem "right" to me.

Through my job, I was able to transfer to the "big" city.

1982 Went to a little dive bar on Clark and Wrightwood.

I walk in, and saw Dh at the end of the bar.
I knew that second, he was the one for me.

Moved in together. Bought our first and only house in 1995, Love Dh and the house!

...and they say gay relationships are wrong and won't last!

And...........................how many lovahs did you have before DH? :bee: I wonder if my number is higher?

2 girls and Dh!

Really? No experimenting first? How did you figure out you were gay? Was it not until you saw your DH and fealt something?

I ask because I was watching Meridith Baxter's story about how she came out. She had a couple of marriages (to men). One day after her last divorce, she met a woman who was her new neighbor and instantly was attracted to her and she was confused because she had never looked at women that way before. She was with tht woman for several years and has now been with her current (female) partner for several years.
She was asked if there was an clue in her past that she might be gay and she said no......nothing. :dunce:

Leads me to wonder if for some people, it's not the gender that people are attracted to, but the person.

Do my ramblings make sense?

I met DH on AOL in Oct. 2002. He flew out to see me in Virginia a few weeks later.

Engaged in Jan 2003, married Aug. 2003.

Almost 8 years.
:)

All the Jewel peeps will appreciate this ...

My DH had to run in to Jewel today to buy an energy drink. Did he pay full price for this energy drink? YES, but let's try to focus on what he did right ...

He brought home cats for me from the Uscan:

4/40
Free eggs w/ 10.00 purchase
1.00 off fresh meat
2.00 OYNO (from OM hot dogs)
1.00 OYNO (looks like from Coca-Cola?)

I told him that he redeemed himself for buying the overpriced energy drink. And we celebrate 10 years in a few weeks ... guess I will keep him.

I've done this frequently. :hides:
(Well not full price, I have a price point for when it is on sale) and usually pay for it with MM Cats or RR. :bowing:

Also the $3 in Cats he found could offset the price, and I'm going to stand up for him and say that he would not have made the purchse if he had not found those Cats.

That should be his story and stick with it.

LOL.

If only he had found the cats FIRST and then used them to buy his overpriced energy drink!

Oh well. You can't win them all. And now I have some free money to buy my Crest toothpaste with tomorrow.

He did find them first. He never would have made the purchase without them. The only reason that he had to pay cash and bring them home to you is so that you would believe that he found them in the first place.

Was searching for an off topic and saw this and had to add on.

Ironically, I met my DH at a job I took in order to earn enough money to go visit my then fiancee. Broke up with fiancee a year later having grown closer to DH , married DH another year later . Now for married 22 years and counting:)
