Oh come on! Stop talking about private areas! Someone doesn't agree with some of your things............happens to a lot of us.

Let's get back to this great board.

Well, I wasn't going to add her other quote to the list of got2crazykids pearls of wisdom, but let's remember who we are talking about here. You know the one who said: "Not all Muslims are terrorists. But ALL terrorists are Muslim"

The can't we all just get along crap went out in the 90's. Some people here LIVE to be vicious to others and got2crazykids is one of them. I actually think telling Barb to get over it is a LITTLE insensitive....don'tcha think?

If she (got2crazykids) opened fire on you, your DH AND your kids would you like to be told to just get over it?

I agree with the it "happens to a lot of us" part!

I KNOW that when I post certain opinions, there are some who will disagree, and nicely, or not so nicely, tell me about it...

I haven't stopped posting or left the board because of it.

I'm not gonna call anyone bad names, cause it's not me.

I am who I am and my beliefs are what they are..... I'm not changing, nor am I gonna go look for a new board where everyone agrees with me ..... cause I'm not gonna find it.

It's nice to have peeps who stick up for you, but you gotta keep in mind that yeah, maybe there is another side to it, and yeah, peeps are allowed to think that other side.... that don't always make them evil or whatever,...

As I thought about this poll quesiton, I kept coming back to the idea that in life we have so many opportunities to teach our children valuable lessons -you know those teachable moments. I think that having an 18 year old serve as a designated driver could really emphasize how important it is to ask for a ride when you do not feel capable of driving (whatever the circumstances) and that if he/she then ever found themselves in such a position I really think they would be more apt to ask for a ride too instead of taking a chance and getting behind the wheel. I really do feel like we can tell our children things over and over, but until they see us practice what we preach I am not sure they always get it. So, if I were ever in the siutation were I needed a ride home because I would not be able to safely drive home, then I would most definitely feel it is appropriate to ask my 18 year old child to drive me.

I also feel like this can also serve as a great way to open the lines of communication about driving while under the influence, not getting into a car with someone who is driving and has drank, etc.

Years ago, I might have answered this question differently - said no way or just do not drink too much, etc. But now I realize that we are each human, we sometimes will find ourselves in situations we didn't even plan to be in (ie. sometimes a drink might effect you more if you are on a medication, etc) and I think that it is critical to know that it is okay to ask for help and to realize that not only are we helping ourselves when we ask for help but we are helping those we ask (every situation is something that presents an opportunity to learn from).

Just my thoughts on this....

This makes me very sad. Don't let asshats like this ruin what we have here.
Come on, my mom was called a domestic terrorist by a pretty much former member and I didn't let it stop me from talking about my crazy life. 99% of this board are here to support each other, don't let the miserable 1% stop you!
Why, did she hit someone with a broom????

Well, I think your reindog is sending me subliminal messages.

No, nothing like that. My mom was very active in the ProLife movement and she protested outside of abortion clinics. She even got arrested several times - all during peaceful protests. For that stevebass felt she was a domestic terrorist. For that, I felt he was an ****. But I'm still here.

Holy ****, that was an eventful thread to catch up on! I think EVERYONE needs to keep in mind that a LOT of people on here are judgemental (and even rude) when they don't think they are. Sure, some people give low blows and it's definitely not appropriate or okay, but others tend to judge/condescend in a less "noticeable" way, but still very obvious to me...

Just sayin....

Wow....you ho's are falling apart without me....

I agree about letting my 20 year old drive me home from a holiday party where I only had two glasses of wine. When they asked I used it as a teaching opportunity that even though I only had a two drinks I did not want to drive after drinking. With triplets in college (who finally be 21 next week) they all understand the importance of a designated driver. We all know that college drink (even if they aren't 21) and my job is to ensure that they are responsible about it. Hey the drinking age was 18 when I was in college and we had pubs on campus.

Wow! I had a flashback of watching "Springer" in college while reading this thread.

Secretary quit, which means I have to do EVERYTHING!!!

My oh my how I've missed CW....

And there's no one else he can hire? I thought this economy was in the crapper, surely someone else needs a job? Doesn't he know you need to have more CW time??????

He's working on it....it's hard to find someone who possesses my powers of Awesomeness....

What about people who don't drink? I don't drink, so my kids will never have this teachable moment. Are they missing out? Going to be more susceptible to drinking/driving themselves because they never had to DD me? Should I send an email to my friends offering the services of my kid as a DD for hire so he can get this lesson from someone else, kind of like a tutor?

I am staying in the judgmental corner on this.

Kathy, you are too funny. You are like the Devil's Advocate of CW!! You don't drink, this doesn't pertain to you because you will never have to worry about your kid driving your drunk **** home. Maybe since you are setting such a great example, your kids will NEVER drink or be tempted to drink and then there will be no lesson to teach them, they will be perfect forever!!:pigfly::pigfly::hiphip::snort::snicker:

This thread has turned out to be such a waste of time. Whatever happened to coupon deals? Jewel is a little more interesting in the next week. I know what its like to be the center of a thread. I will say it again, just IGNORE those who disagree with you in an inappropriate way and don't even read the thread or even so much as click on "thanks". I know it's hard to do but if I can do it (and I am a debater by nature), ANYONE can do it.

Back to saving money now. :hiphip:
