What's new

Let's continue to get to know our fellow CWer's............

I am an editor and writer for a business information company.

I love my job because I work early mornings and get done mid-day, leaving me time to shop and be with my kids. Also because I get to work from home, I worked in the company's office for a year but now its such a blessing to be "remote."

I went to school to be a journalist/newspaper reporter, did it for a couple of years when I lived in Virginia but was unable to find a position in that industry when I moved to the Chicago area.

I also am an active mystery shopper...I do 2-5 shops most weeks. Nice extra money if you choose your assignments wisely. This week is busy, I've already done 3 and I have 5 more to do.

Nursing was my goal...my credits got screwed up and I didn't get to go back/finish.

My BFF's Grandma always had a goal of becoming a nurse. So Goldie got married, had kids and at 40 years old went to nursing school and became a nurse. She loved it.

Mostly a SAHM--I am a school crossing guard--and that helps supplement the income.
I love being a SAHM--don't know what I will do when youngest goes to school--since I love being home and I love being the volunteer parent. Thanks to groups like this that make it possible!

I do property tax appeals.. busy time of the year. Some months are off season so for those months I am a SAHM.

SAHM, but a high school teacher by trade. I am now trying to get back to work now that my youngest will be in kinder next year, but guess what? Terrible time to try to get a job. I feel so badly for all the out-of-work teachers, whose ranks are going to grow big time when the pink slips go out this month. I am fortunate that I can wait out this economy a year or two.

I'm a teaching assistant in an elementary school for over 9 years now. Of course just got my letter that I am officially laid off as of the last day of school in June. I have quite a lot of seniority so I am really hoping that I will be called back in the fall and be able to work at the same school I have been at for 5 years. This economy really sucks!

I went to school and have an associates in marketing. before becoming disabled I was a 2nd assistant salaried manager with McDonalds. NOw I am a full time Couponer and mom.

got an associates degree for networking/telecommunications. work in IT as a microcomputer specialist. i sit in front of a pc all day working and scoping deals and printing many coups and sending links to my emps to print me out more COUPS!!!!! i work real early tho, 4-12, then i go to the gym for a few hours and then i pick my son up from track practice. i am able to work from home sometimes as well. otherwise i am a single mom, so i get to be the one who does it ALL 24/7!!!! but i LUV it!!! :)

I work for a Canon Repair Facility... yeah me.. :sarcasm:

My goodness so many teachers. You guys must die with all my misspelled words. LOL

It seem like we have ALOT of strong and beautiful women on CW. Love you guys for sharing!!!

I taught math in colleges for about 15 years, owned and ran a tutoring center and pre school for a few years, all before I moved to US. Now I do some work online (blog and affiliate marketing) and coupon shop, which I consider a part time job! I hope to go back to school to get a teaching credential so I can teach here in future.

I am the accounting/office manager plus payroll and human resources for a small manufacturing facility that is part of a huge global company.

I don't have my degree, but plan to go back in the fall for business or maybe engineering. I was originally a biochem and math major.

I have a degree in psychology and spent 10 years as a mental health therapist in an Adult Day Treatment Program. I quit that job when I got fed up with political bullshit of insurance companies telling you how treat your patients.

I am currently a firefighter/paramedic for two small fire departments in Northern Illinois. I wear many different hats at each job and I love what I do.

I work part time as a LPN at Stateville prison. Full Time mom and everything in between.

I sell merchant services (credit card processing services) the terminals and the service to businesses. 15 years experience assisting businesses in accepting all forms of payment from their customers. Internet, retail, mail order, wireless (mobile merchant solutions). Just launched an I-Phone swiper to accept creditcard everywhere!

What I do is similiar to the services you could get setup through a bank but a little known fact: banks DO NOT do the processing, they send it out to a processor like myself. By coming direct to me, the rates are lower and the service 100X better. www.fdiswindycity.com

I also am a director in the Moto-Angel Foundation. We are basically riders helping riders. Assisting the families of fallen riders (Motorcycles), and partners with the Black Nail Brigade (Anita Zaffke nail polish crash 09). www.moto-angels.org and www.blacknailbrigade.com

Last but not least, I rescue and foster german shepherds for www.whitepawsgsr.com

I am a WAHM who telecommutes part time for a major university, working with fly data. It's been over 10 years now... I used to work with the specimens physically -- pin what my boss brought back from his trips, take photographs of specimens, reorganize collections. Since moving away and having kids, they let me take a computer along and work solely with the data, cleaning up taxonomy for the most part. I'm not sure what I'll do when this grant runs out, which could be as early as the fall.

I got a BA in PoliSci (explains why I'm a news junkie and can't get enough of the political threads).

I work for an engineering firm that designs pipe supports for the power industry. My official title is Office Manager but working for a very small company (there are 15 of us here) I pretty much do whatever needs to be done. I'm the only admin. here so that usually includes lots of spreadsheets, but I also get to answer the phones, make any travel arrangements, shop for our supplies (which comes with a free membership to Costco :cartwheel:), plan our Christmas party and any other functions, and all sorts of other exciting events. Of course, it also leaves me plenty of time to surf the web! :bowing:

I taught high school math (Algebra I, II and Trigonometry in particular) for 13 years, but wanted to see what corporate life was like...so, now I develop math assessments for a wonderful publishing company.

I have always been a couponer...but was turned on to "super-couponing" by some of my co-workers (shout out to Jeanwee) and now it is my self-proclaimed 2nd career. I am a mother of 3--2 boys (14 and 12) and 1 sweet little girl (3--see avatar). Very busy with my full time job, husband that travels through the week, mother of 3, and couponing atleast 3-4hours every day!
