LOLOL

I have had some folks look at me funny about my stockpile. my MIL thinks we are a bit "touched" . she doesnt understand when i explain how little i have paid. she just cannot be convinced that we didnt WASTE money and that what i have cost less than had i bought only what we needed . ya know?

Again GF just doesn't get it. If you buy something you don't need it's wasting it. Not too long ago Wag's had Ecotrin low dose $2 FARR and a $2 off coupon. Her:why buy it if your not gonna use it? Me:cause after tax they paid me $1.89 to take it out of the store. Her: but you're wasting it. Me: I'll donate it. Her: that's the stuff I use. Me:here I bought it for you. Her: I don't need that many. SHE JUST DOESN'T GET IT. :faint:

its as if we are speaking a foreign language . LOL why not get it, if they are gonna PAY me to take it? I can donate it(which i do with a lot of the meds i get) which helps someone else out. andi can use the RR to get fruit and veggies and meat at Jewel. Its like i have grown a second head at that point.

One positive, she understands the milk, where a half gallon will go bad in my fridge before it's empty but I still buy the gallon for around $2 instead of the half gallon for $2.50.

Um......hey Charlie.......is she that hot and or good in bed? :p

mine was when I was trying my hardest to see how this coupon thing worked. I saw a lady on oprah...i think couponmom but I was only couponing from the hip so I would search on the net for HOURS to no avail. I went to Jewel and ran into a lady whose cart was SOOOO high that I honestly thought that she was putting stuff back on the shelves-LOL LOL!!! I went up to her (true story), and asked her if she was a "couponer"? She smiled and said, "yes"! I said " I read about your kind on the internet!":lol: she laughed too and I told her that I wanted to be like "her kind"! We talked in the aisle for over an hour and she gave me a lot of coupons. I said, no, save some for yourself-, of course I now know that couponers have multiple of everything! She then told me about this site and I can't believe my life (coupon wise), since then. I logged on here, became a member and soon read about a huge MM on meters at wags. That was Oct. 2009 and was my first MM! I then read that I can spend it at jewel because of their policy on MQ, I was able to turn 2 budgets into one just because I get all my toiletries (from wags) with the food budget and stay on tract. All the frees that we get as couponers are UNBELIEVABLE! Paying only tax for things? I mean, its hard to believe until you get into the game. Thanks again Andystowing, information is truly POWER:) Nice thread Sati!!!

Awww what a great story! As I was reading it I was wondering who it was and wasn't surprised at all to see it was Peggy. She's good peeps. :)

CVS holds my record for my longest reciept at 72 inches. LOL

Nice! :snicker:

I cry a bit inside about the end of the free buddy bars sigh. now that the coupon wording excludes that product line! wahhhh

good thing i have a couple hundred still. *grin*

Couple hundred?! :faint: I only have about 15 or so left. :pout:

Oh I dabbled for awhile, but I got SEROUSLY hooked with CVS Free Sammy, there were a bunch of others at that time too, and they were unlimited, and it rolled, and money makers. I think that was 2006 . . . Octoberish?

Dear God - that was good!

I started couponing a few months before this and remember when this deal hit thinking this is how it was going to be forevah......ah good times......I still have tons of Sammy too and I think Tampax Sport was part of it too (or was that Wags?) which I gave to my sister. She thinks I'm very weird giving her tampons.

For me the first thing I remember getting excited about food wise was the GM cereal/ milk deals at Pick N Save during double coupon days when the cheaper boxes were included (they're excluded now).......just tossed out some boxes that expired in '07. My 10 year old can drink a gallon of milk in two days so this is huge for me.

And when I first realized there was coupons for the lip gloss that I've been wearing for at least 15 years and would pay around $3 for it regularly.....Cover Girl Lip Slicks. Still wear this daily (different colors):

Oh and I still get all hot and bothered looking at my stack of free Reynolds Wrappers. :)

All that free Peter Pan peanut butter was nice too. I remember thinking I hope there's other food recalls that prompt good deals after.

I have been couponing since I was 5...back in the 50's into the mid 60's the grocers would take any coupon whether you bought the product or not (most coupons were .10 or less)...we would go to the A&P with a handful of coupons and trade them for candy.

OMG, the infamous Oct 2006. I started couponing that summer. I was googling and found f.com. Back then they had a good CVS board and that's where it all clicked for me. I sold off a bunch of that stuff at a flea market day at my friends trailer community in WI.

That month paid for Christmas that year which was good because we were broke. I had an asst manager take my receipt and call corporate on me because he thought I had "hacked" the system. At that time, CVS was newer here and the ECBs weren't advertised in the ads. I had to look at the ads from other markets online. He made me wait 45 min while he tried to catch me doing something wrong. I called and reported his ****. (I did it a few more times too because he is an asshat)

Does anyone remember those chews? I made a mint off of them. They were so horrible though. Ugh.

I remember the excitement of trying trial size stuff and them getting up early and going online to see what was going to print 48 hrs later and if it worked. I was such a junkie. The good ol days when trial sizes worked and so did clearance items. Sigh, now I rarely go to CVS.

I started seriously couponing in the summer of 2008 (thanks to my hubby who heard Jill on the Johnny B. show). The first deal I remember was Gold Fish Crackers at Jewel. They were listed in the Thursday and Sunday ads as being part of two different sales. The result of the combination was buy one bag get three free. I think I picked up 16 bags. However, the deal that really hooked me was the GM deal (at Jewel) in the fall that year. I remember plotting out my shopping and heading to the store after my night class. I was there for about 90 minutes. I came home with over $700 worth of products for under $2 (including tax) because there were so many MM on the deal. I literally couldn't sleep that night because I was so pumped. That's when I knew I was hooked. :)

I was a decent Walgreens junkie and a sometimes CVS dealer since 2006. Then one magical day at Walgreens (fall 2007? fall 2008?), Robitussin started generating crazy MM RRs and Wyeth had a $3 PDF Robi coupon on their website. It was a perfect storm. I hit every Walgreens within 30 miles and dragged my DH with, with the promise we'd go out to dinner that night at Macaroni Grill with the GC I'd gotten from Robi. I had hundreds in RRs and rolled them into all kinds of GCs. Robi money. It was beautiful.

Wow we deserve a lot of credit, but not that kind. :jack:

Who could forget Life Fitness chews? Getting an ECB for over $200 was so much fun but the shopping carts weren't big enough to hold all the loot!

They were some sort of fish oil nutritional chews. There were trial sizes that were triggering the ECBs just like the larger bags. I had a $90 ecb off of them. They shut the deal down by Wed, but if you got in early, you made bank. There were Cranberry ones and Omega 3 ones that I think were orange. They were 2 pks for 0.49/ea and paid back like $5 or something like that.

I could not remember the name for the life of me. Thanks.

More recently was the Duracell deal. I am still using those batteries. Those $5/2 CVS tearpads with the mfg coupons and ecbs, throw in a $5/15 and you have MM batteries.

ahhh how about the $3 off any CVS brand product PDFs BLISS

I only started couponing in May so I remember the sale clear as day. It was the Gilette/old spice mens body wash at Wags. Every wags I drove by I stopped for more. Then the sale went to cvs, and then back to wags. My sister who started with me thought I was nuts buying my 30 or 40. I couldnt help myself. We have one through a lot already. think I counted out 20 other day and told her I was starting to run low. I need to amp up my storage area and am waiting for the freezer sale that I hear comes around jan/feb.

Yeah, that was good too - I think that was right near Christmas.

There was also a deal on Rolaids that was similar to Life Fitness chews. Made a boatload of ECBs on those too.

I miss the good old CVS days. :pout: (although I'm still rolling on more cards than I really should be) :surrender:

I think the Rolaids deal was right before I started. I heard stories of people smuggling them into the store so they could buy them again.
