What's new

Singers sing the same 3 or 4 songs everytime they come to karaoke!

Is it their comfort zone? These songs are the ones they got crowd reaction from so they stick with them! Or is it that these songs are the only ones they know!

While some singers are predictable and I can almost pick the order they will sing their songs in, there are also those singers some good and some not so good who will try different songs every week maybe repeating one once a month or so and then there are the very special singers! I have several of them but none who have done what Ms. Carole has done at my Applebees show, Monday night she sang her 300th song actually she made 301! That is 300 different songs without a single repeat! And she does them well to fantastic, you have to love singers like this.

But I think this may be a karaoke record!

Any bar gig is predictable, even when DJ'ing. People have songs like they have drinks. Regulars always order the same thing.

.

That definitely breaks the record of ANY singers i've ever had, at the most i may have a few regulars that have over 20 they sing regularly, but i doubt any of them, even that have been following me for 8 years have over 100 songs under their belt.

No pun intended, well OK maybe.....

Hate to steal your thunder, Thunder, but:

947 different songs as of last nights show.....:yoBow:

Closest thing to rainman that I've ever seen. He even keeps his slips, and puts a little tick mark on the bottom to count how many times he's sang a song. I texted him after I read your post, and he texted me back with that number as soon as he woke up. Used to carry a recipe card box with his request slips in it, now he keeps track of them on a laptop he brings to every show..... I know that he's sang karaoke over 4000 times, he announced that to me with pride several months ago. He's a pretty good singer too!

I have a guy that has been coming to karaoke for 8 years that has sang 700+ different songs. He has 200 some unique songs in my current history that is only 13 months old.

Hate to steal anyone's thunder but I have done over 3000 different songs since 1989.

Ok I should have put a qualifier in here, this is in one year!

She has not repeated a song in that one year period!

I have a guy like that at my shows. I call him "No Repeat Rick". :)

Steve... I'll take a guess and say that if they are singing the same songs each time then it is songs they are comfortable with... songs that they like and know all the words to... it is probably what I would do...

But then again I don't do karaoke... I couldn't carry a tune in a bucket.... :yosigh:

What if it was a really BIG bucket?

I know singers that have two songs they sing and they will sing one or the other when it's their turn.
