Oh no! Does he have a girlfriend?

No. Not sure how long they have been there. He had a girlfriend, briefly in the fall but she never came over to the house. And he is never left home alone except when the babysitter is here. DH and I are just trying to mentally attempt to put the pieces together and it doesn't add up. Gonna be an uncomfortable conversation after school today.

As uncomfortable as it Will be, your a good mom for having the conversation. Boys can be so stupid. He knows you like to clean- so why put them under his mattress!!!! ;)

...tell us more about the babysitter? :35:

PS - It is totally within the realm of normal for boys to "try out" condoms. They also "try out" stuffed animals, washcloths, random clothing items, lalalalallaaaa. Really, anything will do.

When my favorite BBW lotion is missing, I always know where to find it... ICK!

:snort:exactly what I was thinking.

Babysitter is a 18 year old girl that lives in our neighborhood. She is beautiful. THat was DH's first guess but I don't think she would "lower" herself to his level. She's a very mature 18 year old, has had to raise her younger two siblings since her parents divorced and they have lived with the Dad. But then again, they are both hormonal teens so IDK.

I did not inspect any of the items closely but DH said the used condom appears to have a "red" tint to it. They are all left as we found them until we can chat with DS later.

Before you talk to your son, I would talk to your most tattle-tale little kid. Ask some silly questions like "so, when Babysitter is here, what does she do with you? With the baby? With Kid 3 and 4? How about with Brother15?" :girl:

That may get you your answer. Kids have a code, if the younger kids get the idea that older kid is in trouble after you have talked to older kid, then they will typically all clam up for a while.

If you get any pro-babysitter suspicion info then I would tread lightly with your son, because at that point the law says it's not voluntary (with their age diff). Hoping for the best!

I consider myself VERY lucky that boy my older boys have had girlfriends for 3.5 years--the younger of the 2 boys started dating his GF when they were 16--I have never caught them or found evidence of anything. Not saying it hasn't happened in my house--I just haven't caught it. Not sure exactly what I would say to them.

I have. (Tina, stop reading :pms:)

We have had a number of very long and serious talks with all of the boys, one in particular. And with his girl. Have no desire to be a grandma before any of them graduate HS.

Never nice to find surprise DNA evidence.

At least he's a teenager, Valerie. Are you or DH going to talk to him? I'd probably have my DH hande it. :hides: And show himhow to totally delete things so the Littles don't happen upon anything. I'm surprised a snoopy little one didn't find the stuff under the mattress first!

I'll probably be out grocery shopping tonight :)

DH and I have agreed that he handles the boys and I handle the girls when these uncomfortable conversations need to happen.
