What's new

so what are you thinking right now?

Update:

So my BIL and his girlfriend are now going to take a shuttle bus to O'hare Airport from Milwaukee. Then my MIL is going to drive there (from Barrington) to pick them up. So things are a little better.

But get this, they want to borrow one of our cars for a day or so instead of renting a car. My DH drives to work everyday. My kids have piano, swimming, gymnastics, Cub Scouts, choir practice, other appointments, etc. during the week. Gee, I guess I'll just loan them my car so I can walk 5 miles to drop off and pick up my kids from all their stuff. Yup, being sarcastic here.

It never ends with some people ... GAH.

you can rent a car for like $20 or cheaper a day, maybe mention that:lol:

Hey KG I'm dying to see a pic of you and your darling baby belly. :cartwheel:

No.

"No" is an ok answer. see above :giggles:

:pout: Why not? I regret not having more pics of me in my preggers glory. I only have one with my first pregnancy. :(

Even if you don't want to post them, take some pics. You may regret it later.

While I appreciate your perspective, I seriously doubt I'll feel the same way. Despite all I post here, I am a relatively private person. Also, I've always struggled with my weight and for several years have struggled with maintaining a big weight loss. I have put on quite a bit of weight during pregnancy and honestly I feel fat. I'm not going to get into my lingering body image issues -- I'll just say that while I appreciate what my body is doing, I don't feel a desire to broadcast photos of myself right now.

How are you doin' woman? Catching a buzz?

I was...

Then DS called and challanged DH and myself to a game of cards with his girlfriend. We just got done playing and now I'm getting ready for bed.

DS turned 17 today. Amazing.

So we shouldn't expect to see a Demi Moore type pose from you anytime soon kg? :giggles:

I had a really nice evening. A friend invited me over for an early Thanksgiving dinner. She'll be spending Thanksgiving with her son & his family in VA but her daughter will be moving in a few weeks & won't be able to attend so she decided to have another hanksgiving tonight. Turkey & all the trimmings.

Turns out her daughter had some big news for them - she and her husband are expecting their first child in June and she just told them today. :bliss:

While I appreciate your perspective,

Sweetie I totally get that, but do yourself a favor........take a couple pics (don't have to share them) just so you have them.

:faint: Since we've been here for a few years, I keep thinking your DS is like 14. Hang in there mommy! :huggy: Oh and I hope he had a great birthday!!!

I'm just saying if you've never lost 100+ pounds, you don't know how it feels when some of them come back.

sounds like you had a nice evening -- Congrats to your friend's family!!

do yourself a favor and quit harping on my admitted insecurity unless you want me to start in on yours :fart:

I'm glad I have pics of me taken with each of the boys. With Lex it was day of delivery at the hospital and with Lawson it was a couple days before delivery. The Lawson ones were shared and I was embarrassed at how huge I was, but at the same time I'm proud of being a momma. My body was lousy before and it is horrendous now, but I love my boys.

So that was a long way of saying - take the pics and keep them for you and I totally get the "I'm so very far from where I want to be" feeling.

ETA - you'll note that the weight tickers haven't reappeared.....

I must be getting old b/c Lisa Lampanelli's show tonight is not as funny as I used to think.

Still funny....just not as much as she used to be to me.

"I'm so very far from where I want to be"

I respect your input, but I feel our situations could be different. What you've said isn't exactly how I feel. I've had to be pretty darn strict with diet and exercise to keep the weight off for about 8 - 9 years now. It's more like since I got pregnant, intellectually I know I need to eat more, but I was reluctant to actually do it because of what I've accomplished. I had to fight the urge to cut back on what I'm eating every day while pregnant. It's been kind of a battle to eat more healthy foods right now, because for years I've fought not to overindulge.

I've made my personal, private peace with re-gaining weight during pregnancy and I'd rather it not be a public discussion. I also never felt comfortable discussing my weight loss (or any gains) publicly -- I'm not that kind of person. I also am reluctant to talk about what or how much I eat or exercise; they're just subjects that even though I monitor pretty vigilantly, I don't volunteer information about.

There is more to me than my body shape :hiphip:
