so what are you thinking right now?

Oh honey that's so hard. :pout: Is there a senior center around that he could go to?

There is and for years he's talked about going but so far he's only driven by the place.

Also hate that he is 1 hour away from me and so stubborn! He's okay to live alone but seems so lonely with best friend gone.

Maybe if you drive over there, pick him up and go check out the senior center together. Just have someone walk you both around and tell you about the place then let him think about joining. I bet he'll spark up a conversation with someone while he's there. The first step is hard so maybe if you help him make that step..............it could change his life.............give him motivation to do something and be around people. That makes such a huge difference in a seniors life. Good luck.

For the second time this week, my daughter has been told about a friends suicide attempt. Today is her 16th birthday and she is talking to one friend that she helped get put into Bradley (a childs psych hospital) and now we are getting people involved for her other friend. She has been crying on and off for hours and this SUCKS. I think her 16th birthday will be one she never forgets. My poor daughter.

My aunt who is 80 (she never married) was like that after my mom passed away 4 years ago (they were best friends) and she didn't want to do the senior stuff so we talked her into looking into doing volunteer work (at the hospital) and now she made friends there and we have a hard time getting in touch with her because she is always out doing stuff with her new friends. So see if there is any volunteer work your dad can find.

What in the world is wrong with my little guy? Has been on an antibiotic since last Saturday and now his temp is back. 102.9. He looks like crap again. Skin is red, rash hasn't totally gone away yet. What in the heck?

I went through this with Lex. All the tests came back negative and after nearly two weeks he simply woke up one morning perfectly fine. Praying the same for you.

I'm so sorry your daughter has had to deal with this--what a terrible thing to have to encounter at such a young age. And yet, what a powerful opportunity for your daughter to be a force of good and love in the lives of these two poor young people.

:huggy: :huggy: :huggy:

I'm so sorry your DD's birthday has been awful. :huggy:

I think it is terrific that she has been there for her friends and they are getting the help they need at Bradley. Her birthday would have been even worse if they had been successful in their attempts.

I hope all of your DD's future birthdays are full of happiness, light, & fun.

COMPLETELY AGREE 100%

No pets, he hates cats (long story) and refuses to get a dog. My parents built a beautiful home in the time leading up to her death (she never lived in it full time) and he moved into it one year after her passing. But a dog would "ruin the woodwork" even our dog isn't allowed in the basement (which has a super sealant on it)

As far as volunteering he has done a little but has some medical conditions that make things tough to plan ahead. He doesn't want to be committed to anything. Somedays he'll just go for a 4 hour car ride. He drove over the road truck for years and just feels the need to go back to the road.

Senior center...I'm working on that one.

A few months ago he emailed me in the middle of the night. He was sure he was having a heart attack and emailed info about investements and property. Never did call 911 or go to the doctor.

He woke up the next day and felt okay. He is "ready to go when the Lord wants him"

Already irritated w DH. The kids want to spend time with him, he's been gone all week!! And he's just in la-la land and now pissed at me. :hb:

Babe you know men need some space once in a while. Once they have that, they often return better than ever. I hope that happens. :flowers:

Um, you're pregnant & have been home alone with two little kids all week? He's lucky you didn't pass him on the driveway as he pulled up on your way out. I think I would have been poised & ready to bolt the minute I saw his car pull onto our street. :p

Sigh, I'm so tired of saying don't do that you'll break it and we'll have to throw it out.

Lex broke my camera earlier in the week (jammed the lens so it won't go in or out) and just broke the remote controlled truck that he got for Christmas. Trying to decide whether to fix it (not really sure I can) or make him throw it in the garbage to prove that I really do mean "don't do that you'll break it and we'll have to throw it out".
