so what are you thinking right now?

I get 2 papers a week and for me it's been along time since I've picked up any extras at menards. Ordering less coupons too...the game has changed so much. Plus money is tight and stockpile is still pretty big.

I feel sorry for anyone just starting to build a stockpile. So few deals to pick from (no Dom's, meijers, or CVS here)

So you (SIL) thought moving so far away from your family would be so much better. Let me ask you how has it been going. Not very good I hear. If you wanted to be with your new boyfriend and start what you thought would be a whole new wonderful life fine but you had to take your 17 year old daughter away too and now look what happened, she is in BIG trouble. She for whatever reason STABBED your boyfriend, was indicted, has to go to court next week and now your saying after she turns 18 (tomorrow) she is out of your apartment. Ok your giving her ten days to get her arrangements made. Your moving by the first and not including her. So now she is thousands of miles from family and your washing your hands of it all. You say you still care, but to me actions speak louder than words. How can you do this??? This is your child. What happened to you??? Where is the person I knew, I miss her so. I hope someday you find the happiness your looking for.

I am sorry. That is terrible...I will pray for them. hugs.

Decided to look at the CT of my sinuses before my ENT follow up this week. Loaded up the cd & started to look at the images...

It quickly reminded me of why I decided against med school while studying pre-bio in middle school years ago. Black & white words are fine, but see an image.... I'm so grossed out, think I'm going to lose my breakfast. :surrender:

Day #5 of the kids off school....will I survive????
5 days??? Wow, we had a 4 day weekend and dh said they were not allowed to go anywhere today because they got in trouble. I told him I didn't want to listen to them fight all day! It's like punishing me. I think I'll tell them if they clean their rooms and dd practices her cello they can go.

I know, we just finish Christmas break and then they get a 4-day weekend in mid-January, have a couple full weeks of school and then a 5-day weekend mid February. Thursday were P/T conferences, Friday was an Institute Day.

They have actually been behaving fairly well, but it's just the extra mess that having 3 more home during the day creates. Hoping they will go play outside for a few hours this afternoon.

Sorry! I think the CD's are cool. We have one of DD's brain and eyes. It is sort of creepy watching the eyes like develop into eyes rather than sockets but...... it is fun.

DH & I got back from FL Saturday night....trying to get caught up! (And by caught up, I mean on CW, not with housework & laundry.)

We had a great time...in spite of my crazy grandmother almost ruining the trip. She was supposed to stay with the kids while we were gone. I just knew it wasn't going to go well & sure enough, not even 6 hours into our drive she was out of control. By 14 hours in I had to fire her & send her home. Still haven't spoken to her & honestly I'm really not sure I want to. Her & her DH crossed some major lines while here & I think I may finally have had enough. :surrender: So, my kids (18 & 13) did really well on their own this week! Nothing like trial by fire, I suppose. My dad helped a ton by driving them everywhere all week, but beyond that they were on their own. What's even more amazing is that on Saturday they were ok towards each other, Sunday they fought all day & DH & I were going to come home on Tuesday because I wanted to see my nieces who live in FL & I only get to see once every one or two years. By Monday afternoon, my DD's had worked it out & were getting along. (They fight CONSTANTLY.) After a week alone with each other....holy cow! Last night they watched tv together & DD18 even let DD13 hang out with her & her friend who slept over. :faint:

DD18 said she loved making dinner every night. Knock yourself out, baby! She can make dinner tonight. :p

It was so stressful leaving them, but I'm glad I stuck it out. I bet I texted them 500 times this week...are the doors locked? Is the alarm on? Do you need cash? Is DD13 eating? You are remembering to feed the dogs/cats/turtles, right??? :p

Last Sunday I was so stressed from the drive & drama with my grandmother that I spent most of the say in the ER. I have a wierd breathing thing that is impacted by altitude changes & something in FL, so that was fun- can't wait for that bill. :surrender: Two of my last 3 trips to FL have resulted in me going to the ER, so I wasn't totally shocked, but I get so panicky when I feel like I can't breathe. :hides:

DH & I left Daytona on Friday morning & drove up to Savannah. I think that is my favorite place in the country. It is so awesome there, I highly recommend visitng Savannah if you're ever in the area. It's beautiful, the people are so nice. Tazz, I thought of you...there was a homeless guy asking for cash...I never have cash, so I told him 'I'm sorry, I just don't carry cash.' A couple hours later we saw him in another area of Savannah asking for cash to buy food. So, much to DH's dismay (because he's stingy :giggles:) I said to him, "Do you want dinner? I'll buy your dinner, I just don't have cash." So he & I went into Five GUys & were talking while in line, which is what made me think of Tazz...he was there for the "Occupy Movement." I thought, "Oh boy! Tazz would kick my ****! On the other hand, if he's stranded in Savannah, he's not occupying her NY, so maybe she wouldn't!" Turns out he's from Hammond, IN, which them made me think of Mrs. Melton. :giggles:

I'm a little long winded today...guess a week away makes me chatty. :p

How do you mean your grandma was out of control? I've never heard that before.

Taxes are finally filed and now the waiting game begins. Not exactly sure how much child support is going to come out, and its perfectly fine that it is coming out...the extra money coming out of Pat's checks will stop once the full amount is taken out of taxes. YAY!

In other news, it was SO nice to sleep in today without having to get up to take Jonny to the bus. Jonny stayed the night at my parents house.

She tends to take over... immediately upon arriving here she had the kids cleaning, micromanaging food, telling them they couldn't hang out with their friends, sitting in the bathroom while D13 showered so she was "ok," replacing my lamps, scrubbing the patina out of my freaking copper kitchen sink, rearranging drawers, letting the dogs on the sofas, telling DD18 that even though I said it was ok, she was NOT going to meet her bf for Valentine's Day dinner....things like that. :p She can't just come here & enjoy the kids & drive them to school, she has to change everything to her way. I never should have asked her in the first place. When she watched them last year for 2 of the 6 days I needed her to watch them, she ended up staying for 5 days & telling my mother not to come for her "4 day shift." This is the same woman who used to stand on a bench outside my mother's kitchen window when I was a child making sure she was feeding me properly at dinner time. :p Whackadoodle.
