IMO 3 is a lil too young to worry about that. Like you said as long as he's on track, I wouldn't worry about it (yet).

Yeah, I wouldn't want to put him on meds or anything, but it would be great to have some strategies to deal with his behavior. Also, I think that more one on one attention would do wonders for him.

A couple of years ago I fell stepping back in my front door from getting the mail.... I got whiplash and broke my big toe.

What I wish I had done differently in the recovery process is I wish I had seen a Chiropractor sooner. The Whiplash pain goes away in a couple of days and it would have helped me tremendously to get care as soon as the pain went away. I thought I was "all better" when the pain stopped. On my xrays my chiro showed me the torn ligament from the whiplash. The excercises and manipulations have made a huge difference and I have suffered for years since this fall.
 
Why won't my 12 yo DS get his head out of his ****?!!! He's failing most of his classes. I got a list of missing work that he's has to complete by Monday to get any credit at all. He said we brought home all the stuff he needs (long 4 day weekend). So he did some work last night and today then asked if he could watch tv. He's been grounded from everything for two weeks now. I went over his list of missing work that he claimed he got everything done. NOPE. Still hasn't done 3 things and two of them are worksheets he can't find! :gah: :pullhair:

WTH am I going to do with him? :ranting: This has been going on for 1 1/2 years now (but getting worse lately). We've tried all kinds of things.

His teacher keeps making comments about repeating 6th grade. :faint:

Last week I found several missing completed sheets stuffed in his desk for weeks. He keeps doing that................doing the work then not handing it in. :surrender:

Short Short has been doing this all frickin year I hate the 6th grade and chances are they wont hold mine back becouse he already was held back in 3rd

Yikes, that sucks. :( It would be HORRIBLE if DS got held back. He's already the tallest kid in his class and has been having social issues. Plus it's split classes...........his teacher teaches 5th and 6th in the same classroom and my other son will be entering 5th next year so they would be in the same class and trust me, that would NOT be good. :surrender:

I'm going to have to be on his **** daily..........well I've already been going in everyday after school trying to make sure he has everything, but I can't be there to be sure he turns it in during the day.

He'll be 13 this year, he's GOT to get his act together!!!:ranting:

Yup he says it in front of him. He doesn't really say anything. I went off on him about how embarrassed he would be, etc. in hopes of getting him motivated to not let that happen and he just gets upset. I think he feels like it's a hopeless situation. On top of it all, it's pretty obvious his teacher doesn't like him............not making excuses, but we all know that some teachers have kids they do and don't like so sometimes that results in going above and beyond helping and being understanding or not kwim?
 
Finally getting a chance to get back online. Same old same old here.

The OP was renewed today til 3/8 - Thank goodness! The 8th will be a hearing to see if they will make it perm. (2 years). Have my documentation ready for the next court date. He seems to think it will be dismissed. :) My lawyer just smiled and said she would be right by my side for that hearing and not to worry. The truth is stronger than lies!

DS and I are doing ok. He is dealing with this as best he can and I am trying my best to help him through this. I wish with all of my heart I could make this easier for him. I know I am doing the best I can for him (thank you Kathy) and that we will make it through this stronger. I'm humbled each time he shares his thoughts and feelings with me and I know how special of a gift that is.

I have been blessed with a very fine young man in DS. While we do bump heads every once in a while we both know we love each other. Poor DS dealing with hormones of a soon to be 14 year old boy, trying to figure out girls (good luck there), and trying to deal with all of this drama the last few months I feel so bad.

I do smile when he comes to me and says "Mom how am I supposed to answer this". It is a text from his "girl" friend. It is so very sweet.

Other days he has the moody cranky fits you would expect from a teenager and I seriously think I am going grey by the second. Wouldn't trade him for the world!
 
Seriously want to slap DS14 upside the head. He's at school, got a text from him that says, "Not going to track practice, I'm too sore." Ummm, suck it up buttercup. It is Day #2 of practice, you can't just not show up because you don't feel like it. Multiple text exchanges back and forth about this is a team, you made a commitment, go and take it easy, blah, blah, blah and his last text is "Well, I'm not going." I seriously want to beat him when he gets home. Kids don't understand that the habits they form now will stay with him for the rest of his life. What's he gonna do when he gets a job and has a rough day??? Just quit??? So irritated!
