I don't ask him for details. The VPS is hosted with a guy we know from another forum who actually refered this client to me. I just think my client has overloaded it so much that any little addition causes it to crash and burn.

The dedi is offshore - not exactly sure where but the admin is in Iraq which I thought was pretty cool but it's hard to pin him down due to the time difference.

I generally try to drink a full glass of water and 2 alieve before going to sleep on nights like last night, but I didn't have any when we got home.

I'm not really a big drinker these days, so it didn't take much last night to get me bent..lol

That's the sucky part. He should upgrade the RAM. or remove useless mods that aren't really being used.
Ya, that sucks that the dedicated server is offshore.

I *think* it's for legal reasons but I'm going to pretend like I don't know anything about that. ;) The time difference is killing me though the client himself is in Germany. He really is a good guy though. Over the time I've been BSing with him we've become friends. I've fired him twice in the last year though, lol Sometimes the stuff he dumps in my lap is just to much or something simple he could hire out to India or someone much cheaper than me; I cannot stand repetitive mind numbing work.

I've tried everything I can to get him to lessen his plugins. Just yesterday I spent an hour troubleshooting a vBulletin database error on print thread view. Turned out to be one of his older plugins that he *has to* have. Solution: Create an email filter to automatically trash that specific DB error. Then he emailed me and found a different plugin with similar features.

He's crying about having to upgrade his server (again). I reiterated about all the plugins and that if he'd let me setup some caching we could probably save quite a bit of overhead. No dice..You want to waste your money go right ahead, lol.

Never a dull moment with this guy. :)
 
Last night I went to visit a buddy of mine. He bought a new cordless phone and wanted me to set it up for him. He's ~85 and practically blind so I'm trying to show him how to setup the answering machine greeting. Now, I stutter pretty severely and he can barely see the phone so it was a like a comedy act. The blind leading the blind, lol. I like to bust his chops so I says George it's 2012 no one uses answered machines anymore, get voice mail like a real man. He called me a ****, lmfao.

We were supposed to have company I made eggplant parm yesterday for today but they cancelled. My client cancelled so it looks like I finally have some down time. I'm about to fill it up with laundry and cleaning though, lol.
 
I have no plans to watch it but if I'm around the TV, I'll dial it up.
Just got done working out and ate lunch, considering taking off out of town for a few hours or cleaning the apt.

My little girl should be here soon. She's staying overnight and going home sometime tomorrow around 1 pm. It's quite nice how today so who knows what today will bring for us, might take her to the park or something, but we'll see.

Thanks for asking. :) This week is pretty good. On the webmaster front, my main two clients have gotten off plate somewhat for a much needed break. Got some work done on my main sites and bought and installed a theme for Big Guy Lil World. A previous client contacted me to handle his move to a new server and upgrade him to vB 4 that's on my plate for early next week.

Last night, I upped the RAM on my VPS just to get a little more headroom until I move to a new server shortly. Of course that depends on advertisers paying me and as usual one is dragging their feet for 3 months now..Grrr! If I pull the ad, I'd be the bad guy. smh.

I'm sick again. My tonsils keep flaring up here and there. Now it's spread to my ears and sinuses. I probably should have my tonsils out but have no insurance so I'm off to fork over $60 :( for the doc to write a script for high-test antibotics which will keep me in the house for a week. You REALLY don't want to know why. TMI, lol.

I've been doing really great on my diet and exercise plan! I'm back to wearing my jeans again for a couple weeks now. They're actually getting a little big on me! I'm really pumped about that but have been slacking the past few days on the exercise end due to being sick and the weather.

Yesterday, I did all the household shopping for the month. I usually leave the house at 7a and am home from the first round by 10 or so but with the weather I got off to a late start so the store was packed which blows monkey chunks. What usually takes me 3 hours took 5. I've been doing the shopping for a couple years. It's a pain in the **** and was hoping mom would take over now that she has her eyesight back but it's "to cold for me" she says, lol. I don't really mind though, mom's the best.

Aside from that my buddy is coming back from FL at the end of the month so I'm handling the opening of the house, utilities getting turned back on, etc. I have to hire someone to take the boards off the windows the top screws are a little to high for me and my big **** isn't getting up on a ladder, lol Hopefully that will come together this in the next week or so.
 
@Dan Hutter Sounds like you have a lot on your plate. How much did it cost to add more ram to your VPS? What were the specs before?
And oh my, I hope you feel better real soon. Being sick really sucks. My diet? It sucks. I haven't been working out or anything since I got jumped last week - since I don't want any sweat getting into the wounds. =X It sucks.

That's good that your buddy is coming back. Did he leave for a vacation or something?
