Wow, Christians and Catholics could be offended by you. This is the internet.
Take it or leave it, that is the bottom line. Are you the word police??? If you have decided not to use the words in your life then great for you.

If you do not believe in God that is your choice no one is hanging you on a cross. So why not just walk away from the stuff you do not like to read.......people do it everyday.

Get over it.

Thanks Aki - I was trying to come up with a reply but kept backing out of the page out of sheer frustration. The notion that certain groups need to be hands off but others are free to be attacked. Never fails to amuse and annoy me all at once.

Yup...when 'Christian' kept being mentioned, I thought it amazing that 'Christians' had the corner on 'gay-bashing' (or whatever else).

Okay I am confused as it seems there is something deeper than what I read in the other thread. Ummm can I ask why are you supposedly going to hell? I don't know about other's but I was raised Christian and taught that I don't have to agree with what one does but embrace and love the person as it is not my job to judge.

Example-my mother in law is gay. Is it my "thing"? No, it's not. But I was taught to embrace her and love her for who she is not what she does. We don't speak much now but that is for totally different reasons than her being gay!

Part of what makes our country great is having the right to free speech. So we are free to use these words in whatever way we'd like, or even make up new ones. Would anyone like to refudiate that? ;)

This thread reminds me of NoHio's "everyone be nice to me wahh wahh **** moan" thread. You can't expect or even ask everyone to adhere to your standards of behavior.

What makes CW awesome and different from other boards is the LACK of censorship. I personally would NOT want anyone to stop using these words when they feel like using them because when I see them used, that tells me a lot about who they are, what prejudices they carry, and how my progressive and liberal thinking may not really jive with them.

So please don't censor yourselves. Show me who you really are, not some glossed over nicey-nice politically correct version of who you are. Because then when you use the word "retarded" as an adjective describing another person, I know that I can wish a special needs child on you so you get how truly awful your attitude and words are. And when you call something or someone "gay", whether you try to make it funny by spelling it wrong or not, I know that I can wish a homosexual child on your house so I can see how quickly you join PFLAG and start damning people for doing the same thing you once did.
